At what age did you move your child out of the crib?

DS is almost 3 and right now I'm going with if it's not broke, don't fix it!

DS was about 3... when he was 2.5, he climbed INTO his crib while i was cleaning up from dinner one night. So we took the side right off and converted it to a toddler bed right away. He slept in that for awhile.
Then i found a good deal on a lightly used really nice twin bed so i jumped on that and put him in that. He was like 3/3.5...
our new son that we're adopting turned 3 in December, and i plan to put him right into a regular bed...

We moved dd to a toddler bed at 2.5- she is getting a twin bed for her 3rd birthday.

3ish. We just figured she needed more space. She was using her crib as a toddler bed.

DS is 4 and still in his crib with the front taken off. He's getting so big though, so I want to move him ASAP. DS2 is almost 2.5 and still in a crib with the front on. He'll probably never go to bed if we took the front off, so we'll keep it on as long as humanly possible!

Our twins will be 2 in 2 weeks. They are in cribs with the front taken off, we did that early- 18 months. But they were climbing out. We will probably get them regular twin beds when they are close to 3. That is what we did with our boys.

We plan to put him in a twin bed around his 4th birthday. Until then he's content in his crib & still seems comfortable so we don't feel rushed to take him out of it.

Thanks everyone! I'm keeping my DS in it as long as possible. He loves his crib and sleeps great in it. I'm afraid bedtime will be a disaster when we change him to a real bed.

6. Lol! We did take a side off and "convert" it to a toddler bed... at around 4.
He still would fit!
There is no rush to change things. 6 was perfect because we made his bed & covers a "big boy room"

DD is 3 1/2 and is still in her crib... She loves it. We plan on getting her a twin size bed when she outgrows her crib.

My kids hated the crib. DS1 moved into a full bed at 2y3m and I wish we had moved him earlier because it was such an easy transition. DS2 was 2.5.

We converted the crib into a toddler bed at 3.5. She's now 4 and still fits fine into the toddler bed.

At 3 we took the front off her crib to make it a toddler bed, and she's still sleeping in that at age 4.

DD was just shy of 3 when we took her out of the crib and got her a toddler bed that uses the crib mattress. At 3.5 now, she's still in the bed using the crib mattress.

3 1/2.... She loved her crib but I wanted her in a bed before I went back to work for September. It was actually a totally easy transition.

Dd1 will be 3 in a little over a week and is still happy in her crib. We have plans to switch her anytime soon, unless something changes.

Two years old for my first, and we turned the crib into a day bed for my second at 2 as well.

DS #1 - 3 weeks shy of his 4th birthday - he never tried to get out and it was working

DS #2 - 6 months to a year

DS #3 - he will be 3.5 next month and loves his crib. Probably over the summer I will make the transition :(

My DS is almost 3 and still in his crib. We will move him into a bed when the new baby comes so he will be 3.5. He has never attempted to climb out and he is perfectly content in the bed so I never thought to make the change.
