I don't like when anyone changes their appearance in order to put it in the face of people who don't like it. If you want a tattoo, great. If you are too eager to push it in the face of people who don't like them, then you haven't really done it for yourself.

alot of women look absolutely beautiful with their tattoos showing in an evening gown/wedding gown. and by covering it up, that's just covering up who you are. at least that's how i felt when it came to my wedding.
But that's YOUR opinion. Not everybody else.
The thread is about people's opinion. Not just yours, or mine or X, Y, Z. It's about everybody's opinion.
There is no need to try to convince everybody that you looked great at your wedding with your tattoos.
Just like everybody does not have to agree with my opinion on tattoos and who can pull them off.

I don't judge a person's character because they have a tattoo, I just don't like the look of 'em.
When I see a middle-aged woman with a faded tattoo around her ankle, I admit it looks low-class to me. That's just the vibe it gives off even though it could be the furthest thing from the truth.
Two of my best friends have tattoos, they know I don't like the look and don't give a crap, nor should they. We respect eachothers choices and opinions. How boring would life be if we all liked the same things!
It's a simple case of different strokes....

Exactly! Why can't we all have opinions without having someone be right and someone be wrong. Life is subjective, deal with it! And for the record, when I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding and she came down the stairs in her wedding dress with her tattoo all showing, I almost fainted! It DID NOT look classy or beautiful in my opinion. But it's only my opinion and shouldn't matter to anyone, but me!

i wasn't trying to "convince" anyone i looked great on my wedding day. i'm saying it looked fine and no one really noticed. even my grandma who doesn't like tattoos thought i looked beautiful and didn't think they were a distraction.
and you all can think tattoos are gross, i never said you can't. i said the word trashy is highly offensive.

Honestly, my question was directly related to Greenfreak's thread. Some made the comment that certain tattoos and locations of tattoos are trashy.
I find that interesting b/c I personally feel there's nothing trashy about a tattoo nor the location.

I was not intending to offend, but I did purposefully use the "term" that others were using. In this case, it was trashy.

um, there's a thread about tattoos on women being trashy. i am a woman with tattoos, how do you not expect me to respond? or women with tattoos for that matter. i didn't write anything drama worthy but it seems everyone's responses were trying to ignite drama.

I understand what you're saying.
Like I said, I saw other people's responses on Greenfreak's thread about tattoos being trashy.
I don't quite understand how one can be so I decided to ask. But I didn't mean on just women which is why I didn't specify.
I just wanted to clarify.

to answer the original post, i think that women with poorly done tattoos and highly offensive tattoos is gross. it always makes me snicker when i see someone with a bad tattoo

Come on guys no name calling...
My post was not to stir drama up or offend. I was using the specific term others were using.
I agree the word "trashy" is a nasty, rude, demeaning word. Unfortunately, some were using it so I wanted to know why they thought tattoos were "trashy".
Let's keep this debate clean and keep the comments above the belt.

This makes sense to me. To me, trashy is derogatory where gross is descriptive. I think that is what Kimmie is getting at too.
