Spinoff to Unusal Names
I love a good old unusual name, but it doesn't mean that I would name my child one of them...
So what your favorite unusual name.
I love Welsh names, Dafydd, Myfanwy, Iola (pronounced Yo-La) and my favorite is Eleri.

If we have a boy, hubby wants to name him Guy. For many reasons, obvious and not so obvious, I will not!

For boy names I love bibical and last name, first names:
bibical: Noah Jonah Elijah Jordan
first name that sounds like a last name: Porter Conner Parker Riley Tucker
We have an ethnic, long arse Italian last name so these names just don't go well with it

Seamus is a great name.
I like Sayid, I actually like a lot of Arabic names but that wouldn't go with our English last name.

How do you pronounce Myfanwy?
I've always liked the Irish names Aoife (eee-fah) and Siobhan (Shiv-ahn)
I really like Beau for a boy - I dont think it's unusual - but DH does.

I like Casimir for a boy. I think it's Slavic. Carine for a girl (French). But in reality probably wouldn't use them.

Re: Spinoff to Unusal Names
I've always loved different kinds of names b/c I just can't see naming my child a name that is used so much - I don't really know why - just can't get into the typical names - now, I'm not going to "make up a name" lol and I'm not talking naming my kid Moon Rock lol lol but just something a little different and not used SO much... But I don't want it to be really out there - I want it to be an actual name that is recorded by the baby name database.
I like Seamus a lot - I've liked, for years, Liam and Aidan but now those are getting more popular lol what can ya do? But I've liked those for YEARS. I've always loved Julian - again, not crazy unique but just a little different. DH likes the names too - and we are really into Carmine, for some reason, I'm all Irish but I just like that name lol sounds strong to me - Armand is another one - I just like it. We like Franklin for a middle name and I've always been a fan of Patrick even though that is used a lot.
For girls the only name I have ever really liked is Teagan - I love it. I pray to GOD that it doesn't, somehow, become really popular so by the time I name my daughter it - it looks like I'm just copying everyone else hahaha. Her middle name will be Josephine after my grandmother who was the best person ever!
I do like Charlotte which is why I named my puppy that

DH is a III and really wants a IV, which I really don't want, but I told him I'd agree to it if we came up with a nickname we both liked (I really don't like DH's middle name). FBIL suggested Finn and we both liked it so if we have a son one day, that's what we'll call him.
