Spinoff to Prenatals - Vitamin A?
I started taking a Centrum multivitamin with 500 mcg of Folic Acid 3 months before we started TTC. I just did a quick Google search to see if it was ok and read that it may want to be avoided since it has Vitamin A (3500IU - 29% as Beta Carotene), but also read that anything under 10000IU is ok. I did a quick search of pre-natals and it looks like they all have Vitamin A. Has anyone spoken to their doctor about this? Any thoughts?

You need vitamin A, you just don't want over a certain amount of it.
I know my prenatals had it while I was pregnant, and my DH was taking those Flintstone vitamins-they smelled so good when I was pregnant and I wanted to eat them like candy . But I couldn't take one bc then I would be over the amount of Vitamin A that was healthy for the baby.
eta: When I got pregnant, I got a packet from my doctor for what I could take, and it said do not take any ADDITIONAL Vitamin A than what was already in my prenatal.

You can have too much vitamin A from vitamins but, you can't od on beta carotene so any bit of it in the form of beta carotene or naturally occuring in foods is fine!
