I'll be using Kiddie Academy in Setauket.
4 Day program is 1185 a month, he'll be there from 8:45 to 5:45
They take infants starting at 6 weeks

This is great! How early should you start calling to register?
ASAP. Lots of daycare facilities fill up fast. Esp. if you are looking for infant care since those rooms allow the least amount of children vs. caregivers.

I can't believe how cheap daycare is on LI. I would have placed bets that it would be more there than it is in the DC area. We just started looking and the cheapest we've found is $1325/month. Most of the ones we've called are $1800/month. I think we're going to wait a while to see if we can find at-home care.

They take infants starting at 6 weeks.
We registered out future DD to start there next October/November, when she's six months. I liked the infant room, security, facilities and they seemed well organized.

Name of Daycare: Tutor Time
Town: Levittown
Weekly Cost: For age 6 weeks to 18 months, $275 for 3 days, $315 for 4 or 5 days. The cost goes down after that, but I don't know to what.
Hours of Operation: 6:30am to 7pm. No extra charge for those extended hours.
What is the youngest age they take? 6 weeks
Would you recommend? Yes, DS has been there since 13 months and I'll be sending DD there in May/June at 12 weeks. It's a classroom setting, the teachers and staff are wonderful and very caring and friendly, and any issues I've had (maybe two somewhat minor ones) have been addressed immediately.

WOW. Those are CHEAP.
The daycare by my work (Manhattan) is over 1800 a month, and 7AM-6PM.
The wait list is packed.

I live in Central NJ so it may only help a handful of you (if any) but my DS attends daycare 5 days a week and we pay $875/month.

We used Kiddie Academy (Greenlawn and Islip are owned by the same) as an infant. The baby program was fine and safe (~$325/week 8-6), but they really dropped the ball for toddlers. The best thing we did for DS was to pull him out of KA and enroll him at a local preschool. The difference after one week was incredible, I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner.
The turnover rate is so high! The good ones always leave (b/c the pay is so bad). We have a few former teachers who babysit for us and they have told us bad stories. I will not send this LO back there even as an infant. We'll be going to KinderCare in Huntington.

Town: Clark Street in Patchogue behind Chuck E Cheese
Monthly Cost: $750 for 5 days full time
$550 for 3 days full time. They are flexible with what you need.
Hours of Operation:7:30-5:00

Would you recommend? Absolutely. They take children who are 2, who are not yet potty trained. They provide diapers, wipes, drinks and snacks. Their playgrounds are awesome including a full sized fire truck and boat. Their graduation is like a Broadway Musical! Sooo cute! Everyone has always been so nice and I have NEVER heard a bad thing about it! I have used them for about 8 years now. I toured many many preschools before picking this one and Kiddie Kollege was by far the most impressive. A++
