Plain Chobani with Honey Veggies with Hummus Apple with Peanut Butter
Water
This or a variation of this is what I basically eat every day (sometimes I add cinnamon to the yogurt though!). Or a laughing cow light swiss on my apple.
If I ate this for lunch, I would probably pass out way before dinner I am so amazed at how little people can eat!
Yesterday I had a tupperware of pasta with vodka sauce and cut up a chicken cutlet into it LOL Once my metabolism slows down, I am totally screwed!

When Smart ones or lean cusines are on sale I bring those.
Or light bread/sandwich thin with some turkey and mustard
salad with beans and grilled chicken.
Hummus with pita/veggies.
then I usually throw in a string cheese and piece of fruit or small yogurt.

I forgot hummus and veggies! So easy, quick and CHEAP! I probably make hummus in the magic bullet quicker than I can make a sandwich.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
I make DH 2 PB&J sandwiches everyday. Once in a while he will ask for bologna and cheese. He won't eat leftovers at work and doesn't eat any other cold cuts.
I either bring a salad, leftovers, make a sandwich, or bring a frozen meal.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
i don't have kids, so it's just me and DH.
I make a big pot of soup on Sunday and split it into portable containers for the week so I can grab and go. I usually take a piece of fruit too--something easy like an apple or a banana that doesn't need any preparation. DH will usually take leftovers or frozen food.

Well I am literally eating all day long. So I'll have the greek yogurt for breakfast with decaff coffee or tea. Then at like 11ish maybe I'll have a Gnu bar or some nuts, then at 1ish the veggies and hummus, maybe 3:30ish the apple with pb or the cheese.
I llike little snacks all day long. Then I'll have dinner around 7-7:30 (Veggies, egg whites...) and sometimes some dark chocolate late night.
Then on the weekends I will eat a piece of pizza or a sandwich, maybe some frozen yogurt.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
Typically, I bring Weight Watcher/Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice meals. Even when not on sale, I get them at BJ's. If not, I bring cold cuts- turkey breast or chicken breast on whole wheat bread. I also bring baby carrots and a piece of fruit.
If we have enough leftovers, I'll bring that.
Today I had tuna with veggies (carrots, celery, scallions) on toasted whole wheat bread with baby carrots & a laughing cow wedge. Sometimes I will also bring hummus on a pita with veggies.
My lunch is so boring.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
I always buy a pound of BH cold cuts each week, usually I get what's on sale (roast beef, honey maple turkey, Everoast chicken, bologna, etc.).
The cold cuts my DH and I make sammies from, and most of the time, the kids are happy with PB&J, although they do eat cold cuts too. I stock up on WW or LC frozen stuff when they are less than $2 at Target or S&S, and I pair that with a salad. I always have heads of romaine home to make a quick salad.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
DH and I literally have PB&J every day. In the winter I will sometimes bring a soup or a Lean Cuisine or something. I do not like to sit at my desk though all day without a break so I will usually eat at my desk and then run out to get a coffee. Helps break up the day. Saves a ton of money and I don't miss buying lunch at all...
ETA I also bring breakfast! Usually a yogurt,

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
DH takes pretty much the same thing every day -- a turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat bread, a string cheese, and either some kind of fruit or pistachios or something else.
I always take a string cheese and some kind of fruit (for morning and afternoon snacks), and for lunch I typically make something at the beginning of the week and portion it out for the whole week, typically soups.
For example, this week I did a simple tortilla-type soup, chicken broth, corn, dark red kidney beans, diced tomatoes, seasoning (could put chicken but I didn’t) and brought a couple of multigrain tortilla chips and some shredded cheese to garnish when I eat it. I have done quinoa veggie soup, spinach/lemon orzo soup, a turkey sausage stew, chili, standard chicken soup with veggies, tons of things. I prefer a hot lunch, and especially soups with beans in them are filling and pretty cheap to make.

Re: Spinoff to 100 dollar budget for groceries. What do you pack for lunch?
I am able to go home for lunch so I usually have a wrap with chicken that I boil up on Sunday with a little bit of mayo and cucumber and lettuce, and finish it off with something chocolately
For DH I usually pack him cold cuts or he gets the leftovers from dinner the night before.
