My mom was soon to be engaged to another man. One day, she walked up the block for her childhood home to Hildebrant's with her siblings and some friends...my dad was a cop and was "walking hte beat" and they met. 6 months later they were married.

He was 19; she was 16. They met while my dad was at RPI. He was dating my mom and his high school girlfriend back on LI. He would have my mom wear his ring during the week and would tell her that he had to bring the ring home or his parents would be angry. When she found out, she gave him the ultimatum. They were married when she was 17, had my sister at 19 and my twin & I at 21.
Years later the high school girlfriend called him and asked if he was happy - he was working nights, going to school during the day & raising 3 kids. He said "Yes very" She said "Ok. I'm getting married tomorrow & just wanted to check"
Forty years later, he still says he chose the right one.

My parents went to the same Catholic School but never talked. My Great Great Grandmother owned a candy store and my mom would go into the store everyday to buy nonsense just to see my dad but when she did she was always a total b*tch to him. He must have liked it because he asked her to their 7th grade dance and they've been together since

My mother was returning to the US from a vacation in Ireland and my father was immigrating. They were introduced on the ship on the transatlantic crossing. I think it's so romantic, but I joke that my father never got a chance to meet anyone else in the US! They sailed back together 8 years later with my older sister, who was just a baby, and settled back in Ireland. Now we both live here and they live over there

My mom was going to a bar (walking) and it started to rain, so she put her thumb out. My dad picked her up. She knew him from HS and she hated him because of something that he said to her when she was about 12 years old. He asked her out she said yes, and 3 months later they were married. She was 17 he was 19. 9 months and 4 days after their wedding I was born. They are happily married 31 years.

My parents met at a bar. My father's friend went up to my mother's friend and told her my father was very hard of hearing and he would like to meet my mom. So my mom went up to him and screamed in his ear and he was like "Are you hard of hearing or something?"
