Re: Spinoff: How soon after your DC's birth did you DTD?

I had a relatively uncomplicated vaginal delivery with only a few stitches and minimal tearing.
I felt 100% fine after about 1 week.

We did not DTD though- I wanted to wait for my 6 week appt. Well the day of my 6 week, I got AF back and had to cancel.
The next appt wasn't until I was about 10 week PP
But as soon as AF left we DTD- my DH wasn't down with waiting another month for my appt! Chat Icon

So 7 weeks PP lets say.
Let me tell you- it was fine.
It didn't hurt AT all. I didn't feel anything different at all.

I honestly waited probably 10 or 11 weeks because I was so scared Chat Icon. I had a pretty easy vaginal delivery too. Though I did have some tearing and stitches. Honestly, the first time hurt a LITTLE bit. It was more like discomfort as opposed to pain actually. And probably after 2 or 3 times, totally back to normal. And I was surprised to discover, I actually felt tighter- I thought it would be the opposite! Chat Icon Chat Icon

12 weeks. I had a tear/stitches that didn't heal right until 6-8 weeks PP. It hurt a little, but was ok. Use lube if you're worried it may hurt.

I think it was around 6-7w--right after I got the okay from my doc. I had a vag delivery and stitches. I wasn't in any pain after. Everything healed well, but man, DTD hurt like hell! Every time got a little better though until it no longer hurt.

Re: Spinoff: How soon after your DC's birth did you DTD?

6 1/2 weeks. I was cleared after my 6 weeks c/u, but had bleeding for 4 days after. Once that stopped we did it.

I had a vaginal birth...tore on my own and had stiches. I felt sore until 6 weeks.

It didn't hurt, but it felt different! It also felt a little numb..Chat Icon

Re: Spinoff: How soon after your DC's birth did you DTD?

4 vaginal births. I DTD:

Baby#1: 3 months PP

Baby#2: 9 days PP

Baby#3: 11 days PP

Baby#4: can't remember off the top of my head but it was under 2 weeks PP.

I just waited until I was done bleeding. I only had stitches after baby#1.

6 weeks and it hurt! We have only done it 3 times and LO is 12 weeks. I have been nervous because of the pain. I was cut and had stitches so not sure if that's why but I'd love to know when it stops hurting and starts feeling good again.

Re: Spinoff: How soon after your DC's birth did you DTD?

7.5 weeks. Vaginal delivery with 3rd degree tearing.

Terrified is an understatement.

Im not going to lie, I felt like a vigin again. It hurt! It still does at first and Im 11 weeks pp.

BUT...

DH was on deployment for 6 months most of my pregnancy. I was 8 months pregnant when he returned. We attempted to DTD twice and it was so uncomfortable that we didnt do it again until after birth. I feel like this was the reason it hurt so bad. I basically had sex twice in a year and...well...things got a little tight I guess.Chat Icon

A day short of a month. We just waited for the PP bleeding to stop. It stung for a minute but went away. The bleeding started back up. Chat Icon

About 10 weeks. I stopped bleeding 6 weeks PP but kept telling DH I still was because I was scared of it hurting Chat Icon
Honestly, in my case it did hurt in the beginning. Using lube helped a lot.

I'll be honest although my situation is not the norm. I had an episiotomy and a third degree tear with A LOT of stitches. I was scared to death to DTD. We were going to DTD at 10 weeks but DC woke up at a bad time. We DTD at 12 weeks and it hurt A LOT. Much much more than I expected. I actually dug out my numbing spray and a leftover icepack afterwards. Chat Icon

But, it got easier with time ...

I had a c section and honestly I felt fine pretty soon after. I wanted to after a week but DH was scared he would break meChat Icon I told him not to flatter himself and I gave him another week to get over itChat Icon I was up and walking a few hours after the surgery (my kids were in NICU and you would be suprised how that will make you move). I feel that really helped.
