SPINOFF: Anyone else do this ridiculous thing when it comes to bringing lunch to work?

Sometimes, If I am not hungry when I leave the house then I cannot even imagine being hungry in a few hours, so I do not pack a lunch. Then when I get hungry, I have to go out and buy something. I especially do this if I did not pack the lunch the night before. In the morning I am sometimes too queasy to even prepare anything. Am I the only person who is so shortsighted that I leave the house thinking I will not want lunch in a few hours?

Re: SPINOFF: Anyone else do this ridiculous thing when it comes to bringing lunch to work?

In the mornings when I first get up I am SO not hungry. I had to change my routine and shower in the morning first so I had time to wake up and start to feel hungry!

The worst for me is going to the supermarket on a full stomach! I can't picture wanting or needing all of the food for that week!

I do, but DH always makes me something to take in when he sees that I didn't prep anything.

DH prepares my lunch box everyday. Otherwise I would not fix anything.

I always take my lunch. It is kind of just the way it is. I am never in the mood to get lunch together in the morning so I get it ready the night before and throw it in my lunch bag in the morning. As a teacher, I have to bring b/c we don't really have time to go out.

Re: SPINOFF: Anyone else do this ridiculous thing when it comes to bringing lunch to work?

Definitely not the only one. Some days even when I'm hungry in the morning, I can't picture myself being in the mood for whatever I was going to bring for lunch.

Heh. Not only have I been known to leave without lunch.. but it's usually the same days that I don't eat breakfast!

My new years resolution was to stop ordering out so much and I have been MUCH better this year. Last year I was ordering or buying 3-5 times a week!!Chat Icon

Re: SPINOFF: Anyone else do this ridiculous thing when it comes to bringing lunch to work?

I am often like this. I try to throw a granola bar and some fresh fruit in my bag so at least I have something to munch on.

I'm not as bad the days I know I am going to be in the office all day.

I usually pack it the night before, but I also have frozen meals at work if I ever get stuck, along with cans of soup, crackers, granola bars, etc. If I ever get snowed in for a month I'll be OK! Chat Icon

Thats why I make my lunch after I clean up from dinner. I could never get anything together in the morning. Not only am I half dead but I am so not hungry at all. Once lunch time comes, I am grateful I dont have to buy anything.

My dad does that. I think its efficient. And cute. Chat Icon

I can't do mornings either, but I have the same sort of problem as the OP , but at night. I'm too tired to think about food for the next day, so I skip it & regret it the next day.

YES! I am often nauseous when I think about food in the morning, so I don't even bother to bring anything with me. Then at 10am I am dying and sooooooo hungry. I never learn my lesson though. Chat Icon

Yes, I'm the same way. Half the time I have no appetite in the morning and I'm like "Oh, I'll just have some oatmeal at work or something.."Chat Icon Meanwhile, when lunchtime comes, I'm a raving lunatic looking to munch down everything not nailed downChat Icon It's a viscious cycleChat Icon

Re: SPINOFF: Anyone else do this ridiculous thing when it comes to bringing lunch to work?

I'm the opposite! I never eat before going to work - too early!! - but I pack enough food and snacks that you would think I was leaving for a 10-expedition. I always like to be prepared with food because I hate having to buy.
