Spinoff - Personal Space

Does anyone else hate having their personal space invaded in public like I do?

i.e. when I'm on a line at let's say the grocery store....

Is it really necessary to be right up my a$$ to the point where I can feel your breath on the back of my neck?!?!?

A couple of months ago I was on line at CVS and this man was so close to me I tried all my tricks and nothing worked to get him to back off. THEN when I was entering in my pin code he was standing right next to me, side by side like we were chekcing out together. So I turned to him and said " Excuse me? Would you like to pay?" please back off" !Chat Icon Chat Icon

The worst is when you notice and move up to get some space, the person behind you follows suit Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

One of my biggest peeves while shopping is the person who hits you in the a$$ with their shopping cart because they are following so close.

I have started going in front of the cart to help avoid this. Chat Icon

It makes me crazy when people are too close. I can't count how many times I banged into someone just becase I shifted my weight. Chat Icon I will say excuse me right away to someone stepping too close on a line. If someone is walking too close to me or starts to walk right next to me, I stop and let them go around.

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

This bothers the hell out of me! I just don't understand why people have to stand so close to you in line. There have been some situtions where I have said to the person...can you please back up or not move forward when I move to get some distance between us.

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

Don't like when people invade my space, and are standing so close to me.
Must be from all those years riding the subways.

I have no problem turning around and telling people to get off my arse before they get hurt. Take a step backwards and everything will be a-ok.

DH was mortified when I did this at Disney, but it's better than having me be a cranky bi*tch from having someone so close to me that I can feel THEIR sweat in the 100 degree heat.

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

biggest peeve..

i ride the subways every day and people do this. At the store I tell them to back off or I turn around and look them in the eye. Both of these work.

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

This is my biggest pet peeve!! I get so stressed and agitated when in crowded places and people are standing on top of me in a line. MY DH knows that if it's like that anywhere, he needs to get near me so nobody else is touching me because I will say something and may accidentally back up into the person or swing my bag around to make a point. Just thinking about it gets me riled up!!

OMG, I was at a wedding and this guy (family friend) was introducing himself to me and talking, but damn, we had about an inch between his face and my cheek because i couldn't look at his face since he was so close!!! I just kept trying to move away and he would follow...boy, I worked hard to get out of that convo quick!!

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

This is one of my biggest pet peeves! And the quickest way to piss me off lol!

If someone is standing to close I usually flip my hair and hit them with it Chat Icon I have pretty long hair and that usually works.

Since getting prego its gotten worse. I was at the outlets and some A-hole was literally walking so much on top of me that he stepped on my flip flop causing me to trip. He said he was sorry but at that point I had already morphed into the green monster and told him to go f*ck himself.

My Dh doesn't understand why this is the first thing that sets me off. If I were to be on that show "boiling points" and if someone was standing right on top of me I would lose it in about 3 seconds.

I really can't go to General Admission concerts for this reason.

Maybe it's because I'm an only child and never had to share personal space?

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

About a year ago, a lady was behind me on the pharmacy line at Walgreens. I was picking up an antibiotic and this woman was literally on top of me. So as the pharmacist handed me my pills, she told me that the antibiotics would affect my bc. The lady behind me says, "Isn't that a wedding ring on your finger? Why are you on bc if your married?" The pharmacist yelled at her and told her to back up. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon So ***** rude !!!!!!!!!!!!

I went off on a couple that was behind me on line at waldbaums. I had quite a few items I bought and I had all 3 dd's with me , I also only had a stroller ( no cart) to put my suff under, so when I was trying to put the stuff in the stroller the girl pushed her boyfriend so far up my A$$ I couldn't even bend over. I inched up for some room , and again she pushed him closer to me so I lost it . I said " how incredibly rude can one be? I have my 3 kids with me , I am trying to put my groceries under the stroller, and you are too freakin impatient to give me a minute? How classy are you? Have a great freakin day , and learn about patience and personal space!" Chat Icon I was fuming !!

Re: Spinoff - Personal Space

YES, this gets to me too. I've never said anything to anyone about it (yet), but I've given them looks... hate it when that happens. Do they NOT care that they're bumping into someone else (or about to)? Are they TRYING to be obnoxious? I don't understand it.
