spin off to easter traditions
When did you start doing things for easter with your kids? My twins will are 18 month preemies and not walking, we are not religious and they have EVERYTHING!
Yes they would love finding a basket full of stuff, but they would also like it if I opened up the Tupperware cabinet. KWIM I'm not sure if I'm being a scrooge. I'm trying to process spending $$ on stuff that they dont need, (well one of them needs shoes) when they will not remember it.
I do want them to have fun traditions! I'm so unsure as to what to do. TIA

Can you make a basket filled with puffs, and stuff like that...things you would normally buy anyway. And put the shoes in there too. You could get an elmo book at target for $1.
At least you could take pics so they can look back!

I really, honestly, don't get the whole getting presents for Easter thing.
To hide some plastic eggs is fun, have them crawl and find them, let them be empty, take pictures.

My DD was 1 last Easter. I filled her basket with a few things I'd buy anyway (puffs, fish, etc.), a stuffed bunny (which took up a lot of room), a few books and silly little things, like Little People cars.
It was cheap, but enough for her to rummage through and have pictures with.

Gifts in an Easter basket do not need to be anything expensive or crazy! Throw some puffs in an egg so they can shake em... Add a book, maybe some cute bows, crayons, coloring book, etc... Actually you could get a ton of cute items at the dollar tree so put in a basket... It's exciting... Even at that age!

I don't believe in toys for Easter.
I put candy in some eggs and give him a chocolate bunny. This year he will have a pair of Thomas pj's in there, but that is only because I found a pair on clearance for $6 and he needs them.
We have an egg hunt in the backyard and let him have extra 'treats' for the day.
I would put puff's in some eggs, even a small chocolate rabbit for each of them, just so they can have a taste. They will love playing with the plastic eggs!

Thanks everyone. I don't believe in toys for Easter either. Spent some time in target today and we have some new crayons, yogurt melts, Elmo t shirts, and lots of plastic eggs that I will fill with goldfish.

DS is going to be 5 weeks at easter and we did get him a basket from PBKids, just because I want it to be the same one we use every year... I filled it with a stuffed bunny, a bunch of books I would have added to his collection anyway, two small toys (a crib mirror and soft blocks) a puzzle and some pacis and paci clips. Nothing was really expensive and it's all stuff I was wanting to get anyway.
