Re: Tell me about your Easter Family Traditions
I was raised Jewish so all of our traditions come from my MIL. She goes crazy filling easter baskets for my kids and she always, always makes an incredible leg of lamb which I LOVE!! Wine and lamb in the middle of the day is a fantastic combo

Re: Tell me about your Easter Family Traditions
A couple of days before Easter I get together with my Mom, Sisters and Grandma to make Easter Bread. We make enough for Everyone to have their own for Easter morning.
DH and I attend church with various members of our family. My grandma used to make the Leg of Lamb, but recently it is lamb chops, stuffed articiokes, chicken parm, verggies, salad etc... something for everyone. My grandpa always says a prayer before the meal.
I make Easter baskets for my sisters (they are 8 &12). I put different items in each especially for them.
I buy my Mom and Grandma a small plant. Inbetween Church and Dinner at my Mom's we visit with DH's Family before they head out to Farmingdale to see the rest of the family.

Church with the IL's and then dinner with my family at my dad's country club.
But this year, IL's are actually coming to dinner with us, and next year everything will change and we'll be hosting Easter dinner at our place. My family traditions have changed so much over the past few years that I'm not sure what's tradition anymore, lol.

Re: Tell me about your Easter Family Traditions
When my son was little, we would stay at my sister's the night before and color eggs with the boys, and bake and prepare for Easter dinner. When the boys went to sleep we would open a bottle of wine and make the baskets for the boys and before going to bed ourselves my sister would put powder on her feet and make the easter bunny's footprints. We would go to church in the morning and then come home to wait for the rest of the family. I loved going to church on Easter, all the kids (especially the little girls) looked so cute in their Easter outfits.

Definitely lamb...but I haven't decided on sides yet. I think my Mom is going to make them though
We are big on appetizers...so probably a bunch of those and maybe an Italian course too.

Laura, traditions do change!!! My Mom is in a nursing home, my younger Bro. died in 2005, my older Brother lives in another state, Debi and Fred do all their holidays in Long Island because he seldom gets to see his Parents ( although this yr., Deb said his business will have him on the road at Easter, traveling to Idaho, Calif., etc.), and Donna's not sure what they will be doing. So, I told Deb, if she wants, she's welcome to join us, eating out for dinner, and I told Donna to let me know, if they can join us so I can make reservations. Donna loves the Olive Garden, and the waiting time is long!! If they can't join us, we'll make plans for somewhere else. We will be getting my Mom from the home, and taking her along too. Mary

Re: Tell me about your Easter Family Traditions
when i was young, my grandfather used to make hard boiled eggs, color them, then attach a dollar bill to each one and hide them around his house, me, my sister and brother and all of my cousins used to love going on this easter egg hunt... i miss him and will always hold onto that memory!
ETA now we don't really do anything special, just dinner!
