It's funny how nobody even answered why they assume that thin people DO NOT eat twinkies (or any other fattening foods that "twinkies" may stand for).
Who ever said they assume thin people do not eat twinkies?
As I said before, I MADE THE TWINKIE COMMENT in RESPONSE to a comment that I feel is rude. I didn't say that I think all overweight people eat twinkies. In fact, I said my mother has a thyroid condition (therefore, her overweight status is not due to her love of twinkies, it is due to something out of her control!!!)
It was a tongue-in-cheek comment. I think this is being blown WAY out of proportion.
I'm not blowing your comment out of proportion. And, as a matter of fact, I didn't take your comment to heart. I also don't think anyone who is responding to this thread had your comment in mind.
I was just asking a question because this is something that happens very often IRL and your comment made me think of it. I never once thought that you think all fat people eat twinkies. If I did, I would have responded directly to your comment.

It's all over tv, movies, etc... the very overweight guy sitting on the couch with a bag of chips, twinkies, oreos, etc. He's not eating a bag of carrots with fat-free dip!
This is exactly what I mean. I wasn't targeting anyone here specifically.
It is something that is always done on TV and in real life.

Thanks, I wasn't sure from the overall tone of the thread (not only your posts).
I'm of the mind that nothing is absolute. Not all people of any group act the same way, so of course not all overweight people eat twinkies. And not all thin people like to be told they're hated for being thin, even if it is supposed to be a compliment.

I'm with you on that. And, that is why I started this thread

Re: Sort of Spinoff -- Why is it...
I posted this on another thread, but it "fits" better here I think:
(The first part of this was in response to a poster saying most of the people she knows are overweight beause of their eating habits)
But this is not true of every overweight person. I'm overweight, have been most of my 36 years. I eat healthy, (95% of the time) don't eat any sugar, I hardly ever snack, and even when I work out, I just cannot lose the weight. I do what I can, to stay healthy, but I know I'm not overweight because of my eating habits.
and..ETS: It's just how the coin was flipped I guess... I'm never going to be slim, trim or skinny, I accept who I am and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Re: Sort of Spinoff -- Why is it...
Funny you posted this.
When i was overweight by 40 pounds, my lovely brothers used to say "go eat some twinkies" when they were arguing with me and couldn't win.
I guess its been associated with being overweight...does not make it right, but i've heard that correlation so many times its sick.
On a side note...
I hate twinkies. But i want to try a deep fried one. Just to say i ate a deep fried twinkie, lol.

I was morbidly obese for a very long time. It was not sweets or junk food that got me there. It was being served family style when I was growing up and transferring bad eating habits into adulthood.
I seriously CANNOT picture you morbidly obese.

Re: Sort of Spinoff -- Why is it...
I'm a natural redhead and people always used to call me carrot top and ask if I ate too many carrots as a kid.
It's so mean and hurtful. Why can't people just be more sensitive to redheads? They make me sad.
(btw that was a joke people. although I still get called carrot top to this day)
