I can't see a dinner starting at exactly 5. Can he go to the appointment and then go to the dinner afterward?
Dinner starts at 630 in the city...Appt is at 5 in LI...the appt will be done by 630 probably..no way...
I may call and see if I can get it done at another place see how tht works
I would reschedule the Level II. They've got to have an opening somewhere in the next few weeks.

ok, so here are the choices.
Do the envelope thing for Wed appt or just made an appt at Zwenger Perisi (no clue how to spell that) for THIS friday where DH can make it...We both feel more comfortable at our drs office....

I would deff feel more comfortable doing the appointment at my dr's office! I would go with my mom and do the envelope thing that night. Look away while they take a picture of the private parts and have them write on the sono what it is (like our tech put "Oh Boy" on our sono pic). I think it's very special that way and none of you is missing out!

ITA! Zwagner perisi is the way to go.. they are competant and u have a radiologist reading the report anyway so u are in good hands.

I totally understand your predicament and DH not being able to turn down the invite to this dinner. With the choices you've got, I would go to Zwanger-Pesiri and find out together. If you really don't feel comfortable outside of your doctor's office then definitely do the envelope thing, I think that's such an exciting and private way to find out together. You can open it that night after you're both home and DD is in bed, maybe light some candles and make it romantic, then do a countdown and see what's inside. Either way, it's an exciting moment!!

The same thing happened to me! I made my appt told dh, we had been talking about it...it was 2 days before we were to leave for vacation...well wouldnt you know it...DH has an important "thing" (dont remember what it was now) for work and he can't make it. I was so upset... We decided I wouldnt change it.
I went to my drs, and got the envelope. In the end we decided to stay  but I got an envelope because I didnt feel comfortable finding out without DH.
I think DH was disappointed but what can you do...these things happen. I think my DH was even more disappointed when I told him I probably wont have anymore sonos after that one...
I personally would rather go to my dr's office.
ETA: IF you do the envelope thing, you two can do something special together...with family or out at your fave restaurant...to me it seems even more special!

i dont understand.. why dont you just change the appointment for the following week when you can both go??
i know you said you are having kitchen things installed - but youre not going to be gone all day so isnt there someone that can be home at the time of your appt - like your mom or his mom - just to make sure everything is going well?? do you have to be home the entire time that everything is being installed - or cant SOMEONE just be home??
i mean i also dont think youd have a problem going somewhere else either although i am assuming youd have to pay extra out of pocket to do that
... but then again im team and i dont understand the impatience of wanting to find out the sex the second it's possible. to me it seems like waiting another week wouldn't be a big deal

When you're not team and you have a certain date in your mind for finding out the sex of your baby, even one extra day is too long. I could never wait a week.

take the other appointment. . honestly it won't matter where it happens. . I have done all my scans and advanced sonos outside of the dr's office. . and it really didn't matter to me. .esp at the level II - you will be so absorbed in focusing on the screen and your LO you won't even know where you are!

A lot of things r up in the air like a move date. And its two weeks not one and with move, install, & deliveries that week itll be way too crazy....and what Diana said

i know how it feels to have to wait even longer...and i would be right there with you on that one.
because i would rather be with my own doctor who i know and i'm comfortable with... i'd just do the envelope!! plus that kind of seems like a cute idea too.. you guys get to find out when it's just the 2 of you.
