Soda in the AM

Sometimes at work I see people drinking soda first thing in the morning. I'm not a big soda drinker overall, but I have a personal rule about no junk food (including soda) before noon. What time is too early for soda?

Before I drank coffee (which was not until I was 28!!), I had Pepsi every morning.

my mom is a soad drinker, she can drink it in the am for breakfast. She says it is the same as caffine from coffe or tea in the am.

My DH drinks diet soda like it's going out of style. He's not really a coffee drinker, but needs his caffine in the morning and this is how he gets it. So, he will drink soda as early as 8:00 am

I am not a soda person so I would say no soda in the AM. UNLESS I am nursing a hangover. It's the only thing that gets me through it LoL

I don't do it too often anymore, but when I was in high school, I sometimes used to wake up and get a small glass of soda b/f my shower just to give me a little energy.
It drove my dad crazy, but I figured, how much different is that then having a cup of coffee with sugar in it like he did?

I have had soda in the AM. Not for the past couple of years, but sometimes its what I want. I drink coffee in the am.

I don't drink much soda, but I definitely would not drink it before lunch

My morning caffeine is either Diet Coke or coffee. It's bad, I know. It doesn't matter what time it is for me

I used to drink soda 24/7.

The second I opened my eyes, I would drink a soda and continue throughout the day. So bad for you! Im happy I stopped that habit!

My dad drinks soda first thing in the AM. It's his coffee. I think he has since stopped that habit.

I do not see what is wrong with drinking soda in the am, what is different in the pm? coffee has caffeine and we drink that in the morning so why not soda.

I drink it sometimes in the moring if i feel like it or if i do not feel like making coffe.

I don't drink coffee, so every once in awhile if I am really tired I will drink soda in the morning for the caffeine.

I voted it's never too early for soda! I love soda (real - not diet!), but because I know it's not good for me, I try to limit myself to 1 soda a week - sometimes it will be in the morning!

I don't drink coffee and I used to drink Diet Soda every morning, but I don't really like the way diet soda tastes and I have been staying away from artificial sweeteners so I don't have it that much in the AM anymore.

i dont drink coffee, so i can drink soda anytime.

but as far as the no soda before noon rule... they actaully say that you shouldnt have soda AFTER noon-ish because it takes hours for the caffeine to get out of your system, and interupts smooth sleep cycles. so they say that if youre going to drink it, it should be before 12pm. (i dont really listen to that either, though ).

We drink Diet Coke around the clock here. I'm *trying* to drink water in the morning, because my 4 year old is starting to ask questions. (He's never had a soda and I don't plan on giving it to him anytime soon, so I know I need to set a better example. )

I have drank it in the morning before, but I don't drink coffee so I am guessing that the days I have had it were to wake me up with the caffeine.

I am trying to cut back on soda but because of my crazy work schedule this weekend, it is the only thing keeping me awake today. I started drinking soda at 11AM this morning.

I don't drink coffee so sometimes I have soda in the AM. Diet Coke is my poisen.

we were not allowed to have "junk food" before lunch EVER in my house. (we did not eat "sugared cereals" either) so I am kind of used to that.

sometimes in college, before I started drinking coffee. I had a soda. but it always DESTROYED my stomach. too sensitive to morning time bubbles (unless it's champagne for some reason )

since soda has so many destructive properties (corosive etc) it seems extra bad to me to have it in the morning. illogical? probably, but I can't help it.
