Probably not. It's just not something I want to eat and I think it's an odd choice for a dinner party especially if you didn't ask the guests if they liked venison prior to the party.

I have food issues. So personally for me, no I would not. But I would not make a big deal about it. I would take my piece and make it look like I ate some and then say I was full. I am very skilled in this art form.

Same. The only time I've ever really enjoyed it was when a friend made it Sauerbraten style.

I think she was very rude given the circumstances of your dinner club. This wasn't a one time we're having friends over type of thing.
To answer your original question, yes I would have eaten it. I enjoy venison.

I don't eat meat so I wouldn't have eaten it. But if I did eat meat and was a " foodie " I would have at least tried it. Sounds like she was a little rude.

My cousin made lasagna with venison at her house when we visited. She initially didn't tell us what it was but DH was carrying on about how great it was so she ended up admitting it. Had I known before hand, I probably would have still tried it. I personally didn't like it.
If I was a guest in someone's home and that is what they made for dinner, I would at least try it. That woman was rude IMO

Even if I was skeptic about it, I would have at least tried it. IMO she was very rude.
As a matter of fact the first time I tried Venison was at a friends house, they made a meat sauce out of it. It was delicious.

I would have tried it,but I am willinf to try new things. i tried it years ago at my cousins house and have had it there since... i actually kinda like it.
However, i probably would have asked if they liked it before serving it and if one person didn't like I would have roasted chicken pieces for them or something as a second option!

I would try anything once. If she considers herself to be a foodie, she would have tried it, its one of those sustainable, free range meats that everyone loves. She is a loser

In this type of situation that you mentioned, I think it is very odd that she acted that way. Are you the first couple to try something other than beef or chicken or fish fillet?

If this is the case.. then she definitely was rude.
If the goal is to do something different, then serving venison was perfectly acceptable. If she didn't care for it, or didn't want to try it then she didn't have to take any of it and didn't need to act like a little child about it. I hope the other guests told her to drop it
I'm sorry you and your wife were insulted that way, and i don't blame you for being !
ftr.. i would've eaten it. I LOVE venison.

Buffalo burgers in the summer. There was a sushi night too. One couple did a fried quail entree.
I told my wife I was going to serve dove when it's our turn again. A little dove BBQ!

ITA think she was rude and based on your post above it seems that you are into trying different foods. I personally love food and I am a pretty adventurous eater. I would have definitely tried a small portion and if I didn't like it oh well. To be so vocal about it was competly disrepectful to your wife.

I'm sorry, I would not eat it. However, I don't eat red meat- any of it and have not for many, many years. I also wouldn't be rude about not eating it though. I'd eat everything else and quietly ignore the meat. If she made a big scene about not wanting to eat the venison, then that is very rude.
Same here.
I understand what you're saying about them being "foodies" but I wouldn't have served venison. Or I would've also had a more standard option- chicken, fish, etc.
