so gross
train was packed this morning ( pt washington line )
woman sitting across from us gets up when train pulled into Penn.... and left a puddle of blood on the seat.
DH started gagging, as did I. So I get some ppl are heavy bleeders, but WTTTTTTTF?!

Awww poor woman must have been mortified. I feel for her. Nothing worse when you hemorrhage like that with no warning and can't do a damn thing about it. I've gone through super+ tampons in 2 seconds.

Wow, that can't be normal.
I bleed heavily on day 1 and 2, but never soaking through a tampon that quickly.
And it really makes you think about those seats on the LIRR and what you are sitting on.
I feel like i need to strip naked in my garage and burn my clothes after commuting on the train

she prob had no idea which is what Im confused about. I mean, If I know I was bleeding that bad, I wouldve been the LAST one up from my seat, not the first.
and thats hwat I told DH. If you think youre going to have a bad day, be glad youre not her

i wanted to warn the woman sitting directly next to her. because usually when youre at the window seat of the 6 seater section, you slide over and then get up.. but i didnt want to draw any attention to the situation

edited. I think all wm have experienced some kind of heavy bleeding at least once or twice in their lives. Horrible feeling to either not know, or know and cant do anything until your home or at work.
I have had it very bad but not to the point of leaving a puddle.

I mean I have heard of it, but I always thought periods THAT heavy where you were bleeding through a super + tampon in less than an hour were due to some kind of issue.
I know someone who had actually had a hysterectamy at like 40 years old because she was having such heavy periods that it was affecting her health and her daily functioning every month.
That is what I mean by "not normal"
I remember talking to my gyn about how heavy my periods were after having a baby (I'm talking years after, not the first PP period which is just insane) and he said if you are bleeding through a super + tampon in less than an hour call us, if not it's normal.
So that's what I was referring to.

OMG how mortifying for her. This is my worst fear. Mine was never super heavv until I got Paraguard and its also become irregular so I can spot for a day or two and be prepared or just get it heavy randomly. When I am in a really long work meeting I stress the entire time about a situation like this.

I was wondering that as well. 
And I fear this happening to me. My periods are wonky as I'm getting older. One day I was driving to work - had forgotten to put something on because there wasn't much there that morning, but all the sudden I felt a gush! Horrifying!!! Luckily I was get to a bathroom before it leaked through my pants, but it was so upsetting!

the fact that she was the 1st person to get up from her seat as we were pulling in, makes me think she didnt even notice. THATS the strange part.
so anyway, If you drop a french fry on the seat, cut your loss and move on. do NOT apply the 3-second rule on the train, EVER

Unless she did feel it and realized it.
Maybe thats why she made a B-line straight out of the train & up the steps to get it taken care of before people are up her a** on the staircase.

It's happened to me in my 20s ... I used to have really unpredictable heavy bleeding and I'd soak through pads and tampons in no time. I was once observing at a school wearing tan pants of course and I starting bleeding uncontrollably. A gush as someone described. I cleaned the chair the best I could, tied my sweater around my waist and ran out of there. One of the teachers at the school gave me money for a cab to get back to my dorm. Not a pleasant memory. I feel bad for anybody who goes through that. If she realized it she should have wiped it up and told the train conductor so someone could clean it. It's embarrassing but it's gross to just leave it there.
