Re: SNORING
When it gets really bad, I usually kick my husband out of the bed and make him sleep on the couch...it's the only thing that works for us!!!

The nudges work for me too. I have been quite lucky, hasnt happened in a while, but when it does, I nudge or just wake him up!

Re: SNORING
Most men snore when they're on their backs, so when DH starts to get out of hand, and turn him on his side (away from me), and it stops or is a lot lighter where I don't hear it.
Try flipping him over.

Re: SNORING
I was coming on this morning to post this very same question!
I'm soooo tired because during the non-AC months I have no "noise-buffer" to cover DH's snoring.
So far we've tried:
Breathing Strips No-snore spray (as seen on TV product) Humidifier A special pillow that's supposed to help
NONE of them have worked!! And the ear plug thing just doesn't work for me, I feel uneasy, like I wouldn't hear the smoke detector if it went off.
So the only thing I've been able to do is keep the fan on at night, pointing away from us. But that's going to get cold soon!!!
I'm at the end of my rope!!! And I don't want to be one of those couples who needs separate bedrooms!!
ETA: I've tried flipping him, too, and it works for a second, but then he's right back to it.

Re: SNORING
I nudge too. It will lessen the volume until I can get back to sleep. If nudging doesn't work, I shake my hair in his face since he can't stand my hair in his face. That tends to work bc then he automatically changes position.
I was once on the phone w. my friend & she said "Is that <DH's name> snoring?" I said "Yes but he's downstairs" She didn't believe me until I went downstairs & the noise got louder & louder.
He claims I snored but when you ask Maddie to pretend she's Daddy sleeping, she makes loud snoring sounds.

Re: SNORING
I use ear plugs too. I was nervous about using them at first too thinking I wouldn't hear my alarm clock or something but I do somehow. It drains out the snoring enough for me to sleep and I still hear the alarm clock, phone, etc. with no problem. Problem was solved for us!!!

Yep! Same for me. I can still hear everything when I have the ear plugs in and I swear that magically they somehow drain out the sound of the snores.

That is what I do. I nudge and tell him to roll over onto his side. He snores only when he is on his back.

Re: SNORING
Dh was a horrible snorer and then he went to an ENT as a result of too many sinus infections and founded out he had a severely deviated septum and he ended up having major nasal surgery and can breathe much better. He didn't snore much for a while after the surgery, but now he has put on some weight and the snoring has started again. I also think he snores more when he is really tired.
We have tried the nasal strips and the pillow, too.
I personally think it is a weight thing. He didn't snore that badly before he gained weight.

Re: SNORING
Is it just snoring or does he stop breathing when he sleeps? DH has sleep apnea, went for a sleep study and now wears a mask to sleep at night. It's been a long battle for both of us to get a good night rest.

Re: SNORING
DH ONLY snores when he sleeps on his left side for some odd reason, so I just nudge him and he turns over . I'm not sure how the strips work or anything, because thankfully, we've never had to try them.

Re: SNORING
thanks everyone! I actually do go to sleep way before he does, but i'm a light sleeper, so i wake up pretty easily.
We're pretty sure his snoring is from him being congested from allergies. Apparently that's what those strips work for, so we'll see what happens.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
