My DS has the Playtex Little Grippers and the Munchkin Click Lock 7-Ounce Weighted Straw Flexi Cup. He prefers the Munchkin one.

IMO you will never know what they like and its trial and error.

I have so many until I found the right one.

This.

We tried at least 4 or 5 cups. The ones DS didn't like at that age, he loves now.

def. trial and error but i will say i tried only to use straw cups. i introduced DD with a straw cup with water (i used the little gripper one the above posters mentioned) but when it came down to moving her to milk she wouldn't take it right away i had to try several different ones i even gave in and tried a sippy non straw one and she wouldn't take it. finally i tried the munchkin mighty grip flip straw cups and she finally took it. i eventually was able to move to tommee tippe cups.

for DS i tried to go straight to tommee tippe cups didn't work he also only right now will drink milk out of munchkin mighty grip flip straw cups

we skipped the sippy cup and just started with straw, maybe around 8 months.

ETA we started with the playtex little grippers but then moved to the munchkin flip top one (and he still drinks from that one actually).
