I go to sleep between 11 and 12 and wake up at 7. I am still absolutely exhausted throughout the day.

i usually get like 7 hours or so.

sometimes i think people can feel exhausted even after 8 hrs of sleep--cause they might have some vitamin deficiency. my DH was like this--he was ALWAYS tired no matter what. he started taking a multi-vitamin every morning and it made a huge diference

SAME HERE!

I posted about it a while ago. I thought I was crazy or losing it -- but in reality, I just needed some vitamins in me. I started taking a multivitamin and worrying a lot less (the stress of worrying really got me down) and since then - huge difference!

Also, I got my allergies under control with Zyrtec - that really took a lot out of me too. I am an energetic person naturally so I can't have anything like that bogging me down.

For me, at least 7 hours is ideal.

I must get between 7-7.5 hours a night. Anything less, I'm a zombie and anything more I have a hard time getting going.

Re: Silly debate at work

I'm in bed anywhere between 9 and 10 and I wake up at 6.

I think need for sleep varies from person to person. I know people who can function perfectly on just a few hours... I don't get it, but it works for them.

Re: Silly debate at work

I go to sleep around 10ish and wake up by 7-730am and I am exhausted, but I also wake up 2-3 times a night to go to the bathroom, so my sleep is all broken up

I am about the same. But if I have too many consecutive 5 hours night, I get over tired.

me too. It catches up with me after a few days and then I end up taking a nap in the afternoon.

For me, I think 8-9 hours would be perfect but it rarely happens except when I'm on vacation.

I always feel like I need a lot of sleep. I go to sleep b/w 10:30 and 11pm. I am up @ 5:10. On my days off from work, I usually sleep 8 hours and take a nap during the day. I love my naps.

I prefer 8, but I usually get 6-7. For me, though, it depends more on when I wake up, not always total number of hours. 9 hours of sleep, but waking up at 5am, I'm more tired then 6 hours of sleep and waking up at 9 or 10am.

I think a lot of has to do with circadian rhythms and sleep cycles. If you wake up at the wrong part of your sleep cycle, you'll be exhausted, no matter how much sleep you actually got.

Bed between 11 and 12 and up at 5....I'm not usually tired until later at night.
I used to function on 4-5 hours sleep and now its 5-6. But that is normal for me, everyone has a different internal clock.

I'm totally a 12 hour sleeper. But I usually go to bed around 12-1-ish and sleep until 8-9ish...really whenever DD wakes up. But it usually takes me a while to wake up and most of the time i end up napping when she does b.c i'm so tired.
