Shopping....5 months...infant carrier or let her sit in the cart?

with a floppy seat? she doesn't totally sit up on her own yet, but she tends to get mad if she's in the car seat too long

I would still use the carrier or use a baby bjorn. I prefer the bjorn, since I'm so short I can't see over the carrier when it's in the seat section of the cart!!

When I take my grandson shopping (he's almost 5 months), I put my pocketbook on one side of him, his diaper bag on the other and I use his blanket for him to sit on and for behind his head. He loves it! He gets to see everything and he's not lying down.

I use the hip hammock for Julia when we go to the stores or food shopping.

I think around 5-6 months is when Miranda started sitting in the cart. I'm a bad mom and I don't even use a floppy seat.

I would probably stick with the infant carrier. Katherine is 9 mos. old and *just* sitting in the cart itself. She's been sitting up for a while on her own very well, but was as recently as 3 weeks ago tipping over in the cart.

I went through a period where she was too fussy in the infant carrier and not quite ready for the cart. The worst was trying to food shop. Good thing was it only lasted about a month.

I say keep her in her infant seat. Hayley is still a bit tipsy in the cart and she is almost 9 months old.

I used to use the baby bjorn or my Over the Shoulder Baby holder... worked great! A change of scenery always makes for less fussiness...
I also used to put her in the cart with one of those shopping cart covers and prop her up with blankets around her.

When I used to take my nephew and niece shopping around that age I would put them in the cart and use the "seat belt" pulled tight enough to help hold them up. I also used my purse and something else on the sides of them to help steady them.
