Self Pity- Is this even possible?

It's not odd to focus on your weight after you give birth because your hormones are CRAZY! It will come off... Enjoy your little girl!

You are so swollen right now, as every mommy is in the 1-2 weeks after a c-section. Weigh yourself for the first time at 3 weeks pp and go from there. Chat Icon

Re: Self Pity- Is this even possible?

i just read your other posts....go back and read that one..u just had your baby!

get away from the scale throw it away! look at everything around u except that scale

i would hate for u to look back at the first few days our your daughter's life and all u can remember is worrying about your weight

do not be so hard on yourself...give it time..take this time for your new role as mommy

Re: Self Pity- Is this even possible?

I was shocked when I left the hospital weighing the same as when I entered! I remember going for my 6-week check-up and asking the ob when my uterus would go down. She laughed that my uterus went down weeks ago - I couldn't believe I was still in maternity pants. If you're nursing, you're probably super hungry, so keep eating and know that in time (maybe not in 3 months, maybe not even 6 months) you will be shocked to have your body back. I ate like a pig while nursing because I was so hungry, definitely hungrier than while pregnant and by DS's first birthday - I looked like me again. I've extended nursed and was able to continue eating like a pig and actually continued to lose weight until this pregnancy. Between no sleep, c/s pain, and all of the other emotions related to having a baby - try to be kind to yourself and know that yes, you will take off that weight but for now - enjoy being able to burn a ridiculous amount of calories while just snuggling with your baby (and bf'ing).

Oh good lord.

im not gonna lie, i tend to think 5 days pp is too soon to be worrying about her weight but that being said, theres no reason to be nasty. Most other posts here are telling her its too soon to be weighing herself, step away from the scale etc - its called constructive criticism. People come here to vent, or for support & advice. You dont have to like or agree with what anyone says and can internallyChat Icon all you want - but if you're not going to be constructive in some form, im not sure why you had to post. Just to make her feel worse than she already is? I get that this is a public chat forum and freedom of speech and all that - but i feel like the anonymity of LIF propels people to be ******* unnecessarily. Its disheartening.
To the OP - i haven't been in your shoes yet but as someone who has struggled with weight her whole life, i can imagine how down you must be feeling. Just try to turn your attention away from the scale for a while. Your body went through 10 months of changes, its going to take time for the weight to come off, but it will happenChat Icon

Congrats! Chat Icon

As for the weight - don't worry about that right now. Try to focus on your dd. I'm 8 weeks pp and I'm already back to my pre-preg weight. I haven't even exercised or dieted that much. Bfing is workin wonders! It took you 9 months to put on the weight...it certainly will take you longer than 5 days to lose it, but you will lose it!

Re: Self Pity- Is this even possible?

please please please

take a deep breath

do NOT weigh yourself
do NOT try on old clothes
do NOT focus on this

PLEASE i am literally begging you

enjoy your daugther
memorize every tiny feature
listen to her little sounds
focus on being her mommy

give yourself a set time
if thats 3 weeks? 3 months? where you do not even THINK of your weight.

Every calorie you put inyour mouth is NOURISHING your daughter, savor every one.

Relax, sleep, eat and just enjoy being a new mommy - you will never get this time back!
