School lockdown notification
Apparently West Islip schools were on lockdown earlier this afternoon. I happened to see the story on FB. Parents were notified via call/txt. DD goes to a private pre-school in West Islip but we weren't notified. I find that very odd. I called the school to make sure everything was ok and the director told me they were on lockdown for about an hour.
Would you expect to be notified if your kid's school was on lockdown??

Yes I would. Both my daughters go to the a private preschool and this happened the first week of school. District was on lockdown and so were they. The school called and emailed us. They kept us updated as well. When the lockdown was lifted we got a phone call and email as well.
