Scariest movie you've ever seen

It's late at night and DH is sleeping and I'm wide awake and the only thing decent on is What Lies Beneath and I'm sort of freaking out since it is late and I'm up all alone lol.

This movie is not the scariest movie I've seen but it got me thinking about what movies DO scare me! I get more freaked out by psychological thrillers and serial killer type movies than gory, ghost, alien type movies because in my head I know ghost and goblin movies aren't real but serial killer stuff COULD actually happen to me and that is what scares me!

What are some movies that scare you?

Re: Scariest movie you've ever seen

Thr Fourth Kind...it scared me to the point of not being able to get decent sleep do a couple of weeks and I would cry on and off about it. It literally is my worst nightmare.

Hostel affected me pretty bad. The entire premise of it and the nature of the gore was so effed up. I was pretty freaked out by that one too for awhile.

The Shining is not the scariest I've ever seen, but I feel like I've watched it so many times that maybe it has dulled the psychological thriller aspect of it for me. Every time I watch it, though, I notice a little detail that I've missed before.

Scariest movie you've ever seen

Faces of death. I don't know if that even counts as a "movie". At a sleepover as a teenager, someone rented it (I wonder why the parents didn't stop this?). It was awful. I think I sat in the bathroom refusing to watch it after a few minutes into it. I think a lot of it was dubbed fake, but it still haunts me to this day.

I am like you. The stuff that can really happen scares me more than ghosts etc.
With that:
The Strangers
Vacancy
The first Saw(the sequels got stupid)
Hostel
The Hills have Eyes
When a Stranger Calls!!!

I don't seek out horror movies, so I haven't seen a lot, but The Blair Witch Project was absolutely terrifying for me. I saw it when it first came out and people still thought it was real. I was traumatized!

I don't see scary movies either. I also saw Blair witch when it first came out, but thought it was so stupid and it actually made me dizzy with the camer movements.

Bone collector scared me. I'm in the camp that it actually ends to be realistic for me to be scared. Not into Freddie Kruger crap.

You & I share the same intense fear of aliens , that's no secret. I give you MAJOR kudos for watching that movie. I can't even look at the image for the movie without getting anxiety. Same thing happens with Fire In The Sky. LOL

With that said, Communion or Fire In The Sky are the scariest movies I've ever seen.

Re: Scariest movie you've ever seen

I only got through the opening credits of The strangers. I refused to watch it. Lol

The original Texas Chainsaw massacre scared me the most and the first Saw movie. Hostel is right up there too. Mostly because I absolutely believe there are sickos out there that can pull something like that off. Lol

Dead Again (with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson in the good old days when they were married...) I couldn't look at scissors for months after seeing that. Chat Icon

I saw it when I was in junior high, maybe, but even if I hear one strain of the music now, I get crazy chills.

Pet Semetary! I saw for the first time when I was 13 and Zelda and dead gage creed scare the bejesus out of me. I don't want scary movies in general bc stupid ones scare me. But all those torture movies are the worst for me.
