This question comes inspired from my wait at JFK yesterday. There was a woman who was breast feeding her baby in the middle of the terminal, completely uncovered. So how does everyone feel about breast feeding in public?

I don't find it offensive to see women breast feeding, since it is a natural thing. But I do think that since not everyone is comfortable with it, women should attempt to cover up, especially when in public. And I'm a little "eh" about the whole breast feeding in restaurants at the table thing. I think in that case its more appropriate to go to a bathroom or somewhere private. I do intend to breast feed, so who knows if I will stand true to this when it comes to convenience.

Whoa, you've got to be careful with this question on LIF. It's been brought up several times on many boards and leads to pages and pages of drama and huge fights.

For me, personally, I have no issue with women BF'ing anywhere in public if they have a blanket over themselves for privacy. Giving the crowd at JFK a peep show is a different matter entirely!

Oh, and in Barcelona... get yourself to Parc Guell. You have to take a bus there and walk a few blocks but it's so worth it. It's a park/complex designed by Gaudi and has crazy architecture / sculptures / little houses to go in and GORGEOUS views of the city from the top (it's on a hill). "America's Next Top Model" filmed their finale there one year. Buy a picnic lunch and head on over for an afternoon and you'll love it.

While I am not going to be breast feeding for my own medical reasons. I see no problem with women breast feeding in public. It is not offensive to me at all. If the women is ok with it then it is none of my business to say otherwise.

While I plan on breastfeeding for as long as possible, I'm a bit shy (always had the changing in the locker room fear) so knowing me, I'll probably find a hidden corner or something But you gotta do what you gotta do, and if nature calls, the nutrition of the baby is most important.

I don't have a problem with someone BF'ing in public BUT for the consideration of others I don't think it's too much to ask for someone to do it discreetly and cover up. I think it's just the considerate thing to do and this way nobody has to feel uncomfortable.

I wouldnt be a public BF'er because I am just shy and have body image issues. Does it bother me when other people do it? Not enough where I would get up and leave the room or anything. I do have to say a few friends who have recently had babies who were BFing did ask if I was ok with them feeding their baby and gave me warning before they whipped out their boob...I thought that was nice of them.

I BF my DS till he was 10 months and never did I BF in public I always retreated to my car or a bathroom or a quiet area. It is uncomfortable for me but to each its own if your comfortable than go for it its a natural thing.,

I plan on BFing for at least the first 3 months. While I would never be able to just whip it out, it doesn't bother be to see other women BFing. I mean if they have their shirt completely off and both boobies hanging out it's one thing but most of the time when a woman is BFing you can't see anything and often can't even tell what she's doing.

I haven't decided if I am BFing yet and I have very strong opinions on doing it in public but will keep them to myself to avoid any drama and out of respect for everyone's opinions.

Honestly, I Bf'd my first and I will BF my next one. While you may try to be discreet it is not easy if you have a baby that does not like to be covered. I personally BF'd in pubic using a cover up and usually in a quiet corner but it does not bother me if someone else BF's as they are feeding their baby. If it bothers some one it is there right to look away.

I think there is nothing wrong with BFing in public but I also think some sort of nursing blanket or apron or something should be used when in public. Just because baby needs to eat doesn't mean the world needs to see your titties. Especially when in a restaurant where people are paying good money for a meal...I personally think its in poor taste to have your teet hanging out for all to see... baby can get all the nutrients it needs without your bb's out n about.
