Restaurant rec for Anniversary dinner in RVC/Merrick/Baldwin/Freeport area?
We are celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary tomorrow and want to go to dinner. We'll be putting our DS to bed before we leave so dinner will be late (8:45ish). Don't want to travel more than 10-15 minutes from home.
Need good restaurant recs in RVC/Merrick/Baldwin/Freeport area.
Thought of going to Wild Ginger but it got horrible reviews. DH wanted to go to the Carltun but I thought too far.
Ideas?

In RVC - Aperitif Bistro (French) on Sunrise Hwy.
Merrick - Xaga (sushi fusion) on Merrick Rd.

I actually liked wild ginger, I think on a week night you should be fine.
Fishery is east rockaway is nice and close enough. I like rachels in Freeport , maybe try the new upstairs of kaseys, i have not eaten there yet but I really like the food downstairs and I checked out the upstairs real quick one night ( it was 100 degrees outside so it was not an outside day) and I thought it looked really nice and it is age 25 and up .

George Martins the original in RVC. Loved it when I went for New Years eve.

Just went to xaga, car was broken into in the parking lot, but great food
Also Nicholas James in Merrick
Sole in Oceanside is YUM!!!

Thanks everyone for great suggestions!
We decided to postpone our anniversary dinner to Friday night bc most restaurants close at 10 on Wed and we don't want to be rushed.
We NEVER go out to dinner without our DS so we have to make this one good
Can't wait to try one of these

I love Sage Bistro in Bellmore and Vine Wine Bar in Merrick (def a different dining experience, but so good!)
