Refusing to have diaper changed/get dressed...
Has anyone had issues with this? My boys are 11 months and have full blown breakdowns when I lay them down to change or dress them. I mean full on water works, screaming and trying to roll over....just fighting me tooth and nail. I thought maybe ear infection but no other symptoms and they are fine laying down at night.
What else could this be? How can I stop it?

I don't know how to stop it because DS has been doing this ever since he learned how to roll over and he's now 15 months old. It's as if he hates being on his back now. Every diaper change is a battle. I try to distract him as much as possible with toys, the wipes container, singing to him, etc. but it doesn't really work too well

Yup! It's the age. I usually give my son something completely off limits usually, like the phone, my ipod, the box of wipes, etc. and just do the best I can to be fast. Also, I've gotten better at changing him while he's standing up. That helps a lot.

Re: Refusing to have diaper changed/get dressed...
DD is 18 months and changing her and getting her dressed is like trying to change and dress a monkey swinging from tree to tree! I go back and forth between
I basically have to follow her around while she is bouncing from one thing to the next and try to do as much as I can when she pauses for a split second. I have mastered the art of changing wet diapers while she stands. Changing poopy diapers usually involves me giving her something totally age inappropriate like an adult sized fork or some sort of choking hazard to keep her still for 3 seconds. Yup, I admit it... I do what I can to ensure I don't get poop all over me, DD and the house!
I'm tired just talking about it!

Re: Refusing to have diaper changed/get dressed...
it's a battle every day in my house. I just try to find something new and exciting to hand DD to play with at each change. It's horrible..I just have to go as quick as I can. I think it's the age...they just want to be on the go... DD is 12 mos and has been this way the last month or so.

Dd is 10 months and is in the same stage. I usually give her something to play with, sometimes wipes, or a toy and change her super fast. I do a lot of singing and dancing and try to keep her entertained. It's rough but hoping she out grows it.

I am awful & give dd 14mth my iphone. I have a few appss for her & it keeps her still. Sometimes I just let her watch elmo or puppies on you tube. Terrible I know. Oh & I also give her other off limit items, diaper cream tube, thermometer case, house phone, keys, tv remote, wipes package, lotion bottle, my vitamins, call cps now.
