Reflux Mom's whose LO have switched meds

Please answer some questions for me:
- How severe would you say your LO's reflux is?
- What medication were they on, and what did you switch to?
- What prompted the switch?
- How long did it take for you to see a difference in your LO after the switch?
- Did it work? Or did you switch again?

The spit up I can deal with, but watching my DS in pain is what's killing me.

Right now DS is on Axid and recently had his dose adjusted due to gaining weight, and I was hoping to see a positive change, but I'm not really noticing a difference. Yesterday was horrible with his reflux and spit-up! He was fussing and crying from about 1:00-5:00. And to top it all off this all at my grandfather's funeral. The reflux makes him cranky when he's up, and wakes him up from naps and he starts fussing and crying. And last night while he was sleeping he woke up screaming bloody murder for a few minutes until he spit up, then fell right back to sleep. I HATE seeing him in pain. Thank Gd we have an appointment with his GI doctor tomorrow!

We switched from Zantac to axid because my DS was getting constipated from Zantac. I think his reflux is a moderate case but I can definitely tell when he needs it adjusted for weight. He was good on the Zantac except for the pooping and he also hated the taste. There was no adjustment period between meds and he actually likes the taste of the axid. Hope that helped.
