Re: Question about POAS to detect O

If I was you, I would start to test on CD13-14. I have a 14 day luteal phase (between O & AF). If you O'ed on CD16, you should get a +OPK around CD14...

Also, like Kathleen said, definately test between 2-6 if possible...Chat Icon

Re: Question about POAS to detect O

Does it really matter what time of day you test? I know you arent supposed to test first thing in the morning because your urine is too concentrated. But what does it matter if it is 10pm?

I'm just curious because i'm so confused!

Re: Question about POAS to detect O

My cycles have been getting closer to 30 days-- and i Usually O around CD16 or 17. I like to start testing at around CD13ish-- just to make sure because my cycles keep getting shorter. They are down to 31 from 40+ days.

Re: Question about POAS to detect O

Another question please!

So if I am using the non-digital O sticks….what do the 2 dark lines mean? Does it mean I am Ovulating or that I have ovulated or that I am about to ovulate?

One line is the control line and the other the test line. When the test line gets MUCH darker than the control line(its hard to see sometimes but if you save your sticks, you can see it get darker day by day usually- from faint to dark) then you are due to ovulate in 24-48 hours depending on what brand you use.

OH and one little fact that I just learned since I think I didn't ovulate this month due to lack of CM, you can get a surge(positive OPK) and NOT ovulate. It only tells you that you got the surge, not that you actually ovulated.

Re: Question about POAS to detect O

The test line should be the same as the control line to show that you are about to O in next 24-36 hours. But just a warning. Sometimes only one half of the test line turns darker (like on edge of it) I found it way too confusing so that is why I just digital now. Chat Icon Chat Icon
