Question about luteal phase lengths

My LP has been on the short side the past 2 cycles...only 10-11 days. So my question is, how early could I test? If I used a FRER 4 days before AF was due, that would be today or tomorow which is 6-7 dpo. But that seems too early to me.

Any insight?

I have a short LP too (11 days) and from what I have read online, the early HPT that claim you can test up to 4 days before your period are assuming a 14 day LP. That means around 11DPO. So for us, if we test 4 days before AF, it would be too early. I always wait until the day she is due to test.

Regardless of your LP length, the earliest you can get a BFP is 9 or 10 DPO, with it being more likely at 12+ DPO. This is because of when implantation usually occurs and also it takes a day or two for the HCG hormone to be secreted into your urine and show up on a test.
