Progesterone Suppositories
Ok..so i am trying these suppostories and they are quite messy. This is a silly question but i usually get instructions with all medications and these came with nothing so here goes...the suppositories are kept cold and are in these plastic bullet containers that are very hard. I have been taking them out of the plastic to put in..this is correct right. I could not imagine the plastic was meant to go into you as well but i thought I would ask. Thansk for your help!

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
mine came in a big pharmacy container with no plastic, so I am assuming u mean the plastic bullet container like monistat. It needs to dissolve so u have to., and yes..........they are grossly messy.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
I have never used progesterone suppositories, but I have used others for several medical issues. They are always a mess.
Is the plastic like an applicator (like a tampon case?) or just something to keep them the right shape until you use the suppository?

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
Each of my bullets were in a pill sheet(like Sudafed comes). I just popped them out as I used them.

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
Mine were in a plastic bag and I had to keep them in the fridge. They weren't in a plastic container... but they are really messy! Like maxi pad messy!!

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
I am on them too and they are a mess- definitely need to keep buying pads or liners.
You are supposed to remove them form the plastic - sometimes they break even if you are careful.
My dr tild me to use the monistat type applicator that came with them.
The nurse told me I could put them up with my finger( like an OB tampon)
So, neeedless to say, I put them in both ways.
Sorry for the tmi but someties I feel the points of the suppositories are a little "POINTY" and ooowww.
YOu will feel them meltiing all day- I hate them for that but know they are necessary
ETA_ I keep everything cold in the fridge in a box, that's what I was told to do

Re: Progesterone Suppositories
Thanks so much..it helps to read others experiences. My hubby and i were trying to figue them out last night and i could not belliev there were no instructions at all but i fgured since they needed to dissolve the plastic would not make sense. I have just been tkaing them out and puttin them up like an ob tampon and yes investing in many liners. It is messy but i will try anythign if it helps. I am trying not to get my hopes up since my dr bascially said he is not optimstic but how can you not have hope around these things ya know!
