Preschool Costs-- spinpff to my own post
Now that I am thinking about preschool costs etc.. I am curious to see what the "going rates" are for preschools in and around LI.
If you wouldn't mind sharing- how much do you pay for preschool and what are the days/hrs?
The preschool we are looking into is 3,000 for 2 days a week, 2 hours a day, and 4,800 for 4 days a week, 2.5 hours a day.
Seems kind of high but is actually one of the least expensive ones in our area.

I live in NJ... he goes to a 3 year old class 2 times a week for 2.5 hours a time. ( so 5 hours a week total). Its a "co-op" school so instead of hiring teacher assistants, the parents take turns being the teacher's assistant for the day. we got the schedule over the summer so we could plan ahead for it... it works out to be about 5 or 6 times during the school year.
IT definitely helps keep it cheap... its about $1500 for the whole school year (September till early june).
next year for the 4 year old class, he'll go 3 days a week so it goes up a little bit, but still SO reasonable!!

Ya loved the idea of a co-op. The cost by us of co-op vs. non co-op is the same but I like the idea of parent involvement regardless.

That would be high for me. DD also goes to a co-op and it's about $1700 for the school year, 2 days a week, 2.5 hours a day.

I pay ~2100 for my DD in the 3s at a coop preschool for 2.5hrs 3days/wk.
I paid $1900 for DS for a similar program in a non-coop a few years ago so cost is probably about the same now.
That said, I LOVE the co-op. Yes it can be a pain balancing work and school duties but the sense of community and ability to be in class a lot is worth it!

for one school I pay $550 for 5 mornings - 4 year old - 9 to 12
another is $300 for 3 afternoons 12-3 - ages 3 and 4
another school I pay $310 for a three mornings 9:15-12 - 2 year old program
prices are per month for 10 months

5600 per year 5 days a week 9-12 Montessori school
1700 per year 2 days a week 9:30-11:30.

I pay $116 a week for 2 days 4 hours...it is a learning, like a Tutor Time, so I think it is more expensive.

My twin dds go to catholic school preschool. I believe it is about $6300 for the year 5 days a week 8-2:30

We pay $1054 per month for full time preschool. We live in Northern VA, right outside of Washington DC.

Then we are both cheap lol My ds and dd both went to the TOI Tiny Tots progran. You really can't beat the cost. At the time it was $750 a year or $75 a month. They loved it and got the socialization they needed. They still ask to go visit their old teachers. My ds went to pre K there too. Dd would have gone too but she got picked in the district lottery for UPK.

. Enrollment is usually in january for the following year..it is in the town of islip program booklet that comes out for the winter..hth

i pay about 7,000 for my daughters 3 year old program...4 days a week 9-2:30. It is the same price for preschool next year. She loves it there...and I enrolled my son next year in the 2 year old program 9-12:30 4 days a week..it was alittle over 5,000.
