Potty training - public bathrooms

My 3 yr old has been doing great the last couple of days in underwear. For some reason he doesn't like going to public bathrooms. Even at his school he refuses to go. They have the small potties for them.

The last two days we have pretty much been home so have had no issues. Only problem is for some reason he likes to take everything off when he goes. It's not too bad bc we're home, but don't want this habit when we are out.
Tomorrow I plan on being out all day so don't know what to do with potty training.

Last issue is making #2. He will make a little on the potty, but will hold it in. I put him in pull ups at night and last night he pooped in them shortly after we put them on him. He was crying too bc I think he's a bit constipated from holding it in.

Potty training - public bathrooms

My ds never had fears of public pottys but the first time he was nervous about falling in so I hald him and he was fine.

Cleat he can't get naked in a public bathroom so I'd talk to him about that.

Also I'd skip the pull ups. They will always hold it if they know they are getting one at some point. IMO having pull ups creates confusion and will just delay the process.

My nephew was a holder and he did get constipated but after a week or two he was good and relaxed about the whole process. My sis never reverted to pull ups and I think it helped move it along rather than him relying on them

Thanks
He doesn't have a fear going, but just doesn't want to go make in them. He likes his own potty seat. He'll go in there and sit for a moment then says he can't go. I'll keep trying.

Re: Potty training - public bathrooms

No advice, but my dd still will only go on her little potty and she has been trained since august. I'm hoping one day she realizes that public bathrooms or big potties are not scary. We make sure she goes before we leave the house, and if we are going over a family or friend's house we leave the potty in the car and run out to get it if she needs it. For now I just go with it. It also took her a couple of months to go #2 on the potty without doing a little in her underwear first, but we got there.
