potty training and public bathrooms...
i want to slowly introduce DD to public bathrooms . what does everyone do as far as the toilet seat goes?
i'm a squatter and never sit on them, but obviously this can't be done with DD just yet. i find putting down tp annoying because by the time i put her on it's already fallen off. i was thinking of buying the disposable covers and carry them around in my bag...curious what everyone else does...

Re: potty training and public bathrooms...
depends on the age really, my ds was trained just before 2 years old, so i brought that potty seat with me in my truck and he squatted lol...then i started bringing the round thing that fits into the seat...and i would just disinfect the HECK out of it after we used it out somewhere..

IF she has to go when we are out (and I usually hope she doesn't hate public bathrooms), I put LOADS of toilet paper on the seat and she holds onto my sholders--lol
I had one of those fold up potty seats, but it was a PITA to clean everywhere I went, I didn't like putting it back dirty into the bag--lol I'm such a germaphobe!!

Re: potty training and public bathrooms...
With the amount and type of stuff that a toddler puts in their mouth in an average day, a toilet seat is the least of my worries. I know people have phobias about them, but they are actually very clean. Pretty much ANYTHING other than the toilet seat has more germs.... (door knobs, the floor, toys, dirt, etc, etc....)

I put down toilet paper and she sits on that. The grossest part, for me, is how close my face is to the toilet during the whole procedure--you really get to see how tiny those stalls really are...
