Potty training and out in public

I am potty training my 2.75 yo DD. So far she is doing great at home. When we go out during the day for a walk I put on a diaper. I want to break out of this habit and have her wear underwear outside of home.

So my question is, what do I do if we are at the local park and she needs to go? There is a public restroom and a local Starbucks but the thought of her using a general restroom makes my stomach turn.

All I can think of is to bring lots of sanitizing wipes with me wherever I go and to try to hold her up so she isn't touching the seat.

Any tips, tricks, things I should buy, bring with me etc.?

TIA!

We have this:

If we are in the car (or somewhere without a bathoom like the park) we set it up so he just sits on it, otherwise it also works as a potty on a toilet. (I bring disposable toilet seat covers also so the potty isnt touching the public toilets)

I limit liquids one hour before going out and make them use the potty right before leaving. This helps for short errands or trips.

We have the same travel potty in our cars. If I am shopping, out to eat, anywhere with public restrooms, I use the disposable seat covers and I hold her on the toilet.
I try to get her to go potty before we leave the house. If she doesn't go at home, I have her try again on the travel potty.
I skeeve public bathrooms! But I didn't want my DD to be scared to use One if she needed to.

Re: Potty training and out in public

We have this and LOVE it. My Carry Potty, got at BRU. Love that it snaps shut and contains all the pee, etc. Then you empty it when you get home.

I keep it in my car and we use it often if DD can't hold it until we get home OR if I don't feel like bringing her into a public restroom (which is a chore to me sometimes, some are so nasty).

I also always carry disposable kiddie seat covers, also at BRU. I wipe the seat with toilet paper, then put one down and HOLD dd under her arms, so she doesn't fall in, AND so she doesn't grab the seat (which kids are used to holding on to something).

That's why I love the above. You don't have to dump anything until you get home.
