Positive news about President Elect?
I haven't been posting many news stories recently about Trump because I'm trying to find some positive things in what is going on. I can't really find anything positive or hopeful yet. His staff picks are scary, his short-lists for other positions are scary, he's intentionally dodging his Press Pool, he's not giving vital info to the transition teams, his delays in doing normal transition processes is causing all sorts of problems, he's filling his team with the "swamp" he said he wanted to drain.
If I can honestly find some positive news, I would love to post it and discuss it. Maybe some of the stories are considered positive by his supporters, and that's why I'm not seeing anything positive yet, since my opinion is throwing a different light on the stories.

Re: Positive news about President Elect?
I read that he said he plans to keep gay marriage, because "it's already done". So I feel that's a win, even if in the same breathe he also said he will let states decide on roe vs wade.
I also read that he plans to reform mental health screenings in his gun policy.
But this guy flops from Monday to Tuesday so who knows.

Positive news about President Elect?
He doesn't want a salary.
He is not for vaccines apparently which in my eyes should be the Parents choice. Another debate for another time.
He wants to change some aspects of Obamacare which in my eyes was a crappy thing from day 1.
Forgot to mention the whole childcare thing too. He has some great ideas for that as well.

Other presidents have not taken a salary so I'm not impressed.
He claims vaccines cause autism which has proven to be false so I don't put too much stock in anything he says with regards to vaccinations, clearly he's misinformed or ignorant on the topic.
I don't even think he understands Obamacare.............this is a man who claimed that on his first day in office he was repealing the entire thing. Right away!! Now he's making changes? Sorry, I just don't think he even knows what he's doing with regards to the healthcare issue.
So IMO, none of these are positive or worth talking about. I'd like to hear about some real, tangible, attainable, well thought out plans that he has. So far, I still haven't heard any.

I wonder if he got his information on vaccines from Jenny McCarthy? I hear she may be appointed Surgeon General.

Tit for tat??? I'm saying that none of those things are really noteworthy. Two are all talk, no plan and I don't really give a millionaire kudos for not taking a salary. It's not like he's the first to do that.

The post was for positive news about trump - if anyone had some. I don't think the original OP was setting bait like a lot of the other posts. You CAN let it be. Just a little.

He said that it'd be tax deductible which is strange considering it already exists

He can't repeal marriage quality or legal abortions... but he can work with a Republican / Conservative Congress and make them much more challenging to access nationwide. Look up some of Pence's policies in Indiana. Repealing Obamacare entirely would take too long; it's easier to amend it and change the name.

The deductions are pitiful. When both my girls were in daycare I was paying 24K a year. We got a $1200 deduction.
A friend mentioned that he's going to make the entire cost tax deductible... I have no idea if it's true though.

Yeah as of now you can hardly deduct anything and it's ridiculous. I think he was saying he was going to increase the amount you can deduct. Who knows

... and here we go again.
I can't get into all of this but the vaccine thing is just ridiculous. I suppose you think that twit is a scientist bc he knows climate change isn't real and vaccines cause autism. I love it.
Jenny McCarthy for surgeon general! Good one. I wouldn't put it past him actually. He probably thinks she's an expert in the field and I bet he'd like a fistful of that p*ssy to boot

Nope!!! He was at the 21 club last night.
And he says he only wants to stay at the White House "part time". I assume he'll be in the city screwing up traffic all the time.

Like most of what's in the news lately (and most of what comes out of his mouth), there isn't any concrete evidence, and things change frequently.
http://www.snopes.com/2016/11/14/trump-may-not-live-in-white-house/
(To be clear, the New York Times is the only source that has done original reporting on this, as of 14 November 2016. Despite rumors to the contrary, there's no evidence that Trump stated that he "refuses" to stay full-time at the White House, nor that his preference would be to "play golf and relax" instead of working.)

The childcare deduction that everyone is so excited about does already exist. The max you can deduct per child is $3,000 which is a drop in the bucket compared to what we actually pay in childcare in NY. If he increases it, great! But I doubt it will ever be increased to the amount that people actually pay.

Positive news about President Elect?
This thread was posted to put positive things about Trump. If you have nothing positive to say then don't post here. No one jumped on the anit trump supporters only post because we respected you guys to post your own views. It's all about respect. The whole world has different opinions and maybe if we just learn respect and tolerance we'd all be much better off, regardless who is President. A President lasts only 4 years, the way you conduct yourself lasts forever.

But there is a really big difference between securing a ranch out in Texas and an entire PUBLIC building in the middle of Manhattan. A complete logistical nightmare!
