Thank ladies. I am very intrigued by this. As I said, I carry the benefits. I am about 60% of the income. DH's job does offer benefits but they cost more and have all sorts of crazy deductibles that make my head hurt! Glad to see I am not alone in this.

When I was working, my salary was 30 percent bc dh makes a lot. I did carry the benefits at the time

My salary is slightly higher, so 55%-60% and I carry the benefits.
His company offers them, but we've always been under my company's.

We are about 60 (me) 40 (DH) right now as he is part time and I am full time. We are doing this to avoid having 2 in daycare. I also carry the benefits.

i make slightly under dh, but i have better benefits. we live paycheck to paycheck (and a little goes to saving), so we'll both never be able to stay home. really depressing!

We're about 50/50. Our base pays are within $1k or $2k of each other, but he is eligible for overtime & usually brings home a bit more than I do each year. We also split the benefits. Health is through him, but dental & vision are through me.
this is us almost exactly except we overlap our dental and vision coverages if we need to

DH makes a little over 2x what i make and we get the benefits from his job. But we dont pay for anything, hes union.

It's about equal, some years I make more when I take an extra assignment (I'm a teacher, DH is an administrator) but DH carries the benefits.

I make 40% of our household income and DH carries our benefits because they are cheaper. I used to carry them before we had kids, but family plans are very expensive at my job.

I would say our salaries are just about 50/50. We are under DH's benefits simply because they're cheaper than mine would be. We pay $7 per month for family benefits vs. $300 month if we were under mine. It's a no brainer! ETA: Dental/vision benefits are overlapped by both of us (free coverage through the Unions we belong to.)

My salary is only about 25% of our income. We could scrape by on only his, but i don't like scraping by.

I am not good at figuring out percentages but I make a little less than twice what dh makes and I have the benefits. But we wouldn't be able to survive w/out him working both financially and emotionally. I would be VERY resentful (no flames please!)
I just realized I make about 66% of the income - DUH!
No flames as I AM feeling the resentment currently I know he is not home by choice due to unemployment but still.....
Anyhow....when we both worked, I brought in about 70% of the household income.
I had my own benefits for just me as my old bosses paid 90% of my medical.
DH carried the benefits for him & DS with a parent child plan.
We could not have afforded him to not work at the time just for the purpose of benefits as my old company would have made me pay the entire amount to up the coverage to a family plan minus the portion they pay for me.
Currently I am the only one working. So now I bring in 100% of the income & the family medical coverage (my company pays 65% of my medical).

I'm not good with percentages and I work 4 days a week. I make a bit less less than DH (I'm bringing home 80% of my FT salary), but I carry the benefits for the time being. My job has much better family benefits than his but he could carry them if I ever chose to be a SAHM.
Basically his salary pays all the necessities and mine helps us live that much more comfortably.

Almost 50%. However there may be a time I will make a little more. I get great increases at my job (and 20% raise the first year). I carry the benefits. I get free healthcare, so it would be stupid not to use mine!

My pay is 75-100% and I carry the benefits. Always have. DH is currently not working, but when he was, I made about 60% of the income.
