Please send me strength.
Ava has not slept at all today. She's cranky and miserable and we finally had to put her to bed now to CIO. I know she's not feeling well still, but I know this is the only thing that works for her. She's screaming in there and everytime I go in, it just gets worse and she wants to play. Send me some strength, please. Luckily, JT is off from work this week, but he's so cut and dry about it that it's offering no help

Hang in there. I feel your pain. Emily always fights sleep. I swear she never show signs of being tired. In her three years on this earth I swear she has never yawned. I hope Ava feels better soon so she can get back to her normal routine. Is she getting her molars by chance?

Rach,
First off,  to you and sweet Ava! Im sorry shes still not feeling well  The meds should kick in by tomorrow.
Secondly, with Alyssa I have tyo do CIO differently than the books say - - they say to go in every 5 or 10 min and reassure the child...when I do this with Aly it just makes her more upset and scream louder. I find that if I dont go back in at all , within a few min. she settles down and goes to sleep.

Thanks girls I never have to have her CIO anymore because she's usually such a good sleeper, and I usually just leave her because I know she gets more upset, but because of her double ear infection, I'm afraid she's in pain or whatever. UGH. This is so not like her Even last night she went down like a champ. I just hate hearing her cry.

I know! I hate hearing Alyssa cry hard like that too. did you give her tylenol or motrin before bed? Maybe that will kick in and she will calm down and go to sleep.

Yeah, I just gave her tylenol about 20 minutes ago, so hopefully it will kick in soon. I have to call the ped. tomorrow, I really think that medicine is doing a number on her belly. JT just went in there and she pooped, AGAIN. That's like six times today. Ugh.

well, within 10 min or so that Tylenol should start working for her.
I would definately call the dr. - - maybe its too harsh on her tummy.

Ugh. She's STILL screaming The HARDEST part is that we're living with my parents for the time being and it's not just us, so I feel bad because they get so upset hearing her cry. The understand why we need to make her CIO, but it's really hard on them.

Don't know about you, but tylenol never worked very well when Alex had an ear infection - the motrin always worked better, and lasted longer.
For the tummy issues, I'm sure you know this, but stick with the BRAT diet. It really helps.

I hope Ava feels better soon. DS is only 7 months and there are times we do the CIO and it breaks my heart.
Hang in there. The meds will kick in and Ava will be a champ again!

Ugh. I hated CIO. I was a complete failure at it. So painful.

JT went in and got her a while ago. She had a fever and was miserable. She fell asleep on him and we were able to transfer her to the crib. My poor baby is so sick
