Re: Would you be alarmed if...

I'm not sure why you would be uncomfortable as he was interacting and playing with a child.

Would you think it was strange if an uncle or cousin was playing on the floor with your daughter rolling around?

What you wrote doesn't sound that strange or creepy to me. Actually sounds nice, like innocent playing - but I didn't see it. If you got a creepy feeling about it, then that's what you have to go with. Because even if there is nothing weird about it, in your head you're gonna wonder. Do or say what you need to to feel good about where your daughter is all day and who she is with.

Well, it was more like "wrestling", and you're right, probably innocent.

I guess hearing the comment he said to the other little boy once, my guard is up.

Re: Would you be alarmed if...

It sounds like the teenager was playing with the child. I don't see anything wrong with that. I also spend my days with teenagers. I'm a teacher, so I may be looking at it from a different angle.

No, I wouldn't, because it would be a family member, and I am sure I would know them a lot better.

I read the OP and am responding now........

yeah, it would bother me. Just thinking about it does.
Maybe I am just fiercly protective but if there's anything I'd rather overreact about, it's that.

Go with your mommy gut. If it bothered YOU, that's all that matters.

I read the original post but didn't respond. It would be a red flag to me. It would make me very uncomfortable.

I didn't see the original post but in general, if you feel something is off I say go with it. Your gut is sometimes all you have.

I read the OP but didn't get to reply. Yes, that would be an issue for me. Very much so.

Thank you and to respond to a PP ... I am not sure where your LO's go if you are a FTW but its a big decision to make... when I enrolled her there was no mention of teenagers being there and I guess the way he was playing with her made me a little nervous... that's all.

I didn't read the original post but it sounds like your childcare provider's teenage son was interacting with your young daughter. I would not be comfortable with this at all. I would remove my daughter from the childcare.

No, the teenager was interacting with the other daycare worker's daughter. Which I don't think was inappropriate at all. If the child's mother works at the daycare, I assume they are like "family".

If it's a family daycare, run in a home, you have to expect the family will be there. That is just how it works.

Ding ding. The teenager probably knows this child pretty well.

If you want to approach the topic with the provider. Just tell her that your child is typically uncomfy in situations when people are trying to tickle and wrestle with her. Say something along the lines of how you saw her son wrestling with the employee's daughter, and you know that would really make your daughter uncomfortable, so you want to be reassured it won't be happening there.
