Alarmed Car Key
The alarm on my car key is no longer working properly, is the car dealer the only way to replace the key? Is there a cheaper alternative that I'm not aware of?

Do you have keyless door locks/ignition? I've had this issue and the battery just needed to be replaced. If you haven't tried that already I would check that before going to the dealer those keys are $$$$$ to replace.

Re: Alarmed Car Key
Thanks for the tip. Where did you buy the battery and were you able to replace it yourself?

Re: Alarmed Car Key
I was able to pop the key open... I forget how exactly but there was a little notch and I used something to pop it open. The battery was one of those flat batteries and had the number on it so I just brought it to a few places until I found the right one. I THINK I ended up finding it in a Home Depot.

Checking the batter as well as opening the alarm case and cleaning any gunk build up where the buttons touch. This happened to me once before.

Re: Alarmed Car Key
Thanks so much for the advice. Turns out it was the battery. I went to Batteries plus and in 5 minutes and $6 dollars later, I was Good to go.
