Physical Development Question - 6 months old
Do you think it's normal that Emerson still HATES to be on her tummy at 6 months old? She has NO interest in doing anything on her stomach. She has good head control but won't really lift all the way up on her arms and she doesn't roll over. Is this normal? I don't know what to do in order to get her to play more on her tummy. Nothing interests her, she just hates it.
My DH and I joke.........she's either going to just get up one day and start walking or crawl around the house like a vacuum cleaner with her head stuck on the floor and her butt up in the air.
Anyone else's DC have a similar issue? Any advice? TIA!!

Re: Physical Development Question - 6 months old
My oldest DD hated tummy time. So much so that she could roll onto her back by 1 month old. Then it was a challenge to even do tummy time. She didn't like being on her tummy until she crawled at 6 months old.

Re: Physical Development Question - 6 months old
It seems like a lot of people on here have said that. Just keep trying with tummy time.

Thank the lord for your post!! You made me feel better. She does the SAME thing but that's it. NO interest in anything else. I worry. She has her 6 month check up in 2 weeks so we'll see what the ped says.

Cool! DS has his on Mar 21 as well so we can check in with each other after that!!!!!! I notice that he has no interest in crawling at all, but when he's lying on his back in his crib he scooches backward, kinda like a backstroke, arms and legs flapping... So you'll have a vacuum cleaner and I'll have a mop!

Totally check in with me!! Her appt. is on the 25th. On her back she scoots all over the place. On her tummy she just lays there most of the time and then sticks her butt in the air!!

Re: Physical Development Question - 6 months old
DS did not like tummy time until he could successfully roll back and forth. I just kept doing it and making sure I did it for at least 30 mins a day.

Re: Physical Development Question - 6 months old
dd hates it too and she is 6 months and she doesnt like to roll over either....she can but only belly to back and with back to belly i say to everyone that i dont think she will ever do it bc she hates being on her belly so why would she willingly roll on to it ya know?...lol....she does roll on to her sides and lwhen she does she ooks like she could roll over on her belly but she just wont/chooses not to....when she is on her tummy she straightens out her arms though sporadically honestly dd's ped said he was happy that when he put her dd on her tummy she straigtened out her arms and held herself up thats what he was looking for her to do and was happy with just that....so maybe just practice doing that and when she does it for a little while take her off her tummy as a reward
