2 months - development question?
DD will be 2 months on Sunday . What should she be doing developmentally? She smiles at us now and follows us with her eyes. She also holds her head up pretty well but she hates tummy time on her activity mat.
The ped also suggested baby einstein dvds to keep her entertained a little because she wants almost NO part of her bouncer or swing. She will only sit in them awake for 10 mins. max and then she wants to be held. She stares at lights alot. Any suggestions? thanks.

Re: 2 months - development question?
does the tummy time mat have a raised pillow? I have a tummy time boppy. Sometimes, my DS wants his head propped on the boppy but sometimes he wants it flat down. He can be pretty vocal about it. Keep trying and if the crying becomes terrible, my doctor said to end the session for that day (hopefully some days are not as bad).

Re: 2 months - development question?
sounds like what jonah is doing right about now. he is smiling a lot and tracking us with his eyes. he is holding his head up relatively well and rolled over this morning!
as far as stimulating him, whenever he is awake and alert i talk to him, read to him, or sing to him. i switch every few minutes to keep his attention. i use little rattle toys to entertain him too, and he is starting to move to grab them, which is too cute
i have a baby einstein dvd but i haven't used it yet. i watched it myself and it seemed a little too sophisticated for jonah, although i could be wrong?

Re: 2 months - development question?
Just to let you know, my DD would not go in the bouncer, swing or anything else at that age either...she wanted to be held 24/7 (even to sleep at night!). Thankfully she's now 5 months old and will go in the bouncer, lay on her own on a blanket, in her crib, etc...
So don't worry too much about that!

Re: 2 months - development question?
thanks. i'll try to be patient with Anna re the bouncer/swing but its exhausting!! i have a boppy but not a boppy mat. I have a reg. activity mat. i laid her on it yesterday and she just screamed.
I also try to lay her in her crib to look at her TinyLove Mobile but she will only look for a couple of mins and then she starts to cry. although i always tuck something under her head so her reflux doesn't bother - i've noticed she NEVER wants to lay flat on her back for longer than 10 mins even when she's having a fun/playful time.

Re: 2 months - development question?
Michael is very alert and aware as he smiles, coos, and tracks us with his eyes, as well as our dog (which is so cute) and the toys. He loves his vibrating PnP and his mobil...he also enjoys the swing but not the bouncy chair so much. He can definitely hold his head up but it still flops a little. I am not introducing the TV until later later on (and it will be very little) so we talk a lot to him and play with him.
You should definitely give it some time bc I can see that my son shows interest in certain things more and more each day...one thing he absolutely loves is his bath time...he is so different in it each time.
