Re: Personal Space

I cannot stand when people invade my personal space.

Must be at least 17 inches between us.

If someone's up my asss on line, I usually step to the side.

Re: Personal Space

I have given the "look of death" to people too close too me.

Once this woman was all over me at Target at the register. Pushing my stuff so she could put her stuff on the counter. Pushing my cart into my hip. I told her "do you mind?" She just kept smilling. I could have smacked her face and get great pleasure doing it. I told her to back off and told her to wait. She kept smiling. Lucky her my cart was separating us. I pushed my cart back into her and told her she had to back off or keep waiting since I could not pay and access the CC machine. Hence I could not leave so... finally she moved out of the way. Like Really!!!

I also use this tactic..it most of the time works.

DH and I were in BJ's Wholesale last week. Now DH had a cart and I was behind him with another cart. The couple behind us had their cart behind me with the guy pushing. As we inched up he kept bumping my butt with his cart...let me tell you DH was not paying attention but I turned around, and said "If you do that one more time it's going to be a big issue". The girl looked like she didn't know what I was talking about, but the guy blushed (he knew what he did!).

Now more than ever I'm more aware of what people are doing in line... and making sure they're giving me space!

Re: Personal Space

An arm's length of space between you and the person in front of you is appropriate, IMO.

If someone is standing too close behind me, I will back up closer to them until they need to step back!

I can't stand when people do this!!! it's annoying.

I'd say at least 2 feet or more.

I say a little less than arm's length is the appropriate distance from someone. If I can step back an inch and step on your shoes, you're too close.

ITA with this and one thing I can't stand is when people go past the ropes (like borders or something like that) and are so close to the person in front of them they can touch their prostate, wait until the cashier calls you!

ughhhh... when i feel like someone is too close i throw back my elbow (not very discreetly). if i hit them, they were definitely too close. If not, I just look like a gyrating azz.

Chat Icon I think I may have to try this elbow move! I do not want to step back and potentionally have my azz touch them. Chat Icon I think that would give them some sort of sick pleasure since they are already trying to crawl into it.

This might be my top pet peeve. I get furious when someone is so close I can feel their breathe. Chat Icon I literally feel my whole body heat up and get a chill. Chat Icon
