Perfect BD conditions and timing but no BFP?
I know they say that even with perfect timing, etc. that it can take up to a year to get a BFP with the healthiest woman. I just don't understand why though? Here I am going onto cycle 7, but I do have Endo. I have timed everything perfectly and am doing everything I possibily can to help get a BFP and still nothing. So, I just wonder that the women that they get this info from, I guess surveys, are they REALLY doing everything they can every month to help themselves get PG? I just wonder what the women are doing to say that they're TTC. I can't see most of these women trying everything they possibly can every month? A lot of women don't want to, they just say that it took that long. I know most of the women on these boards are trying everything they possibly can, including me, , I'm just wondering about the national average. Is it really an average???

Re: Perfect BD conditions and timing but no BFP?
When you find out why, please let me know!!!
I think the average takes into account EVERYONE that's trying--no matter what methods they use or don't use. For me, in the beginning, I got my BFPs verrry quickly, but yet I WAS consciously trying although not doing anything but looking at a calendar. After I had my miscarriage last year, I've tried every reasonable "trick" including OPKs, Robitussin, prenatals-- because I was desperate to get pregnant again right away. Well, it isn't working and now after a year, I'll be visiting an RE tomorrow morning.
So...who the hell knows!

I also think that part of the problem is (and it is so unavoidable) the stress. We all know how horrible stress is on the body and the BFN every month and the temping, and charting, and checking CM, and on and on causes so much stress. I know my MD told me the more stress I have the less likely I am to get pregnant.....but how can you not stress to some degree!?!?!
A friend of mine got pregnant super fast because she had the "when it happens, it will happen" mentality (at least that's what she said). I tried that....I think it lasted 2 weeks! But its a constant thought which just equals more stress. It's a nasty cycle!
I think these "national averages" are a waste anyway....I mean did they really go out there and find out from enough people how long it took them or what they went thru to get pregnant!?!?

I totally understand where you are coming from. It's especially frustrating to take blood tests, sonograms, xrays and have my DH have a SA and everything come back normal or "great". There isn't a "reason" for me not to be PG after a year. Very frustrating!!!

I think the answer as to why.. is that no one really knows. Some women get pregnant quickly without really trying, and some women just take longer even with all the temping/charting/timing. IMO, the problem is that we've all armed ourselves with all this scientific knowledge we can find so easily online - so we think we're in control of it... but when it comes down to it, it's all a matter of luck. Is your particular egg going to be released at just the right time and meet that lucky sperm? it's such a crap shoot each month - that's why i think the national average is a year for TTCing. Each and every couple brings a unique situation to the table, so even if all the right ingredients are there, and timing is just 'right'.. it doesn't guarantee anything.
Just hang in there and stay positive - it's really all we can do. I think we all have to try and let go and realize this is something we just have no control over (which i know for me has been the absolute hardest thing to do)

Re: Perfect BD conditions and timing but no BFP?
I think stress has a lot to do with TTC. You can take every single step in the right direction, but if you are stressed, your body will definitely react to it.
My cousin was 100% healthy and TTC for years with no luck.. they finally opted to adopt a child bc they wanted to be parents so bad. A couple of months later.. she got her BFP!
The stress really plays a bigger part in all of this then we think!
for everyone!!
