Ovulation and Stress
After 3 cycles of TTCing after my miscarriage and D & C in July, DH and I decided to hold off on trying so hard to conceive. My cycles had been off and I wasn't ovulating. We've only been married 6 months and haven't gotten a chance to fully enjoy our marriage since we got pregnant on our honeymoon and the stress of having a baby is always in the back of our minds. So...as soon as we had that conversation to just "not prevent" this past weekend and then had GREAT  , of course, I ovulated!
The CB digital OPK didn't work, but since I am temping, my temp spiked the next day and is now still high over my coverline. This is just proof that I needed to "relax" and let it happen. My fingers are crossed that we did conceive, but if not, I'm glad to have our sex life back and to enjoy our marriage!

aww good luck!! my DH is always telling me to just let it happen - it's hard not to stress or think about it though!

That's great!!! I was just telling DH that I can't do this anymore and I am not going to track or OPK anymore. Hopefully it wil de-stress me as well

i think it's true. i think you have to be as carefree as possible about it - but it's SO HARD to not think about it...

i think it's true. i think you have to be as carefree as possible about it - but it's SO HARD to not think about it...

I hear you. The added stress takes a toll on our love life as well. I haven't temped or tracked for the past 2 months. I still used the OPK, but I'll probably stop that if this cycle is a bust. For one thing, my cycles have been regular so I know when to BD, it's either that we can't find the time or it's just not happening. Plus, the next two cycles I should O around Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't need that extra stress. I'm praying to get a BFP next week though!!!!!!

I read an article that said 70+ percent of woman regularly ovulate on the weekend, less stress

I think I really need to do this as well.
I said I would not stress during this time but when we found out DH was going overseas for 4-6 months leaving in October, I really wanted to conceive before he left. Then I started to obsess over it all. Thankfully DH's trip was delayed until right after Thanksgiving so we have been spared a couple more months. (Only one more now).
If it doesn't happen this time around, Im out for a long time and I refuse to stress about it when he returns. We will just wing it.
