OK very confused with OPKs (sorry!)
I have been testing with OPKs and every time no smiley and just the ONE control line on the line ones. Tonight (CD18) the control line was very dark (like always) but the other line was actually somewhat there. It was darker than just an evaporation line but no where near as dark as the control line. Maybe this can be early like as the line WILL get darker tomorrow or the next day or maybe I am just having wishful thinking... I am unsure of how all of this works beyond the basic instructions they give. Looking for help and any BTDT ladies who had the same or similar experiences. TIA

I know this doesn't necessarily happen for everyone, but for me, I do notice that the test line starts to get darker a day or two before I actually get a positive reading. So hopefully, you will see a positive in the next day or 2! GL!

Re: OK very confused with OPKs (sorry!)
That happens to me too. At 1st only the control line is present. A day or so after that I get the control line and a faint line. Then I get the control line and a line that is just as dark as the control line. If I keep testing after that day, the 2nd line is no longer present. So after 5 months of doing this, I assume that the LH surge is on the day when the control line and 2nd line look about the same.
I like the fact that the line fades in and out...

Re: OK very confused with OPKs (sorry!)
If you are using the OPK that just has the lines, the control line will always be there like you said and then we always have a little bit of LH in our systems, so the test line should always show up , but very light. A positive test is when the test line is the same darkness or darker then the control line. Once you get a positive you will probably ovulate in the next 24-36hrs.
Hope this helps

Thanks - thats what I thought it was for - except my control line is always faint if you can even see it - yesterday it was an actual light line (darker than it ever has been) but still lighter than the control line.. but it has vanished again today.. CD19.. no 'O'...
