Re: NT Scan/Blood Work
I had a 1 in 65 chance after my bloodwork came back despite a great nuchal thickness scan. I also have an uncle with downs and am 39 years old. I was sick to my stomach, depressed and freaking out for weeks. It almost ruined the holidays for me. We decided against an amnio. My last bloodwork , I think at 16 weeks changed the odds and brought the figure to 1 in 464, but I still was a little concerned.Dd surprised us last Friday with a one month early arrival . So far she is perfect. She passed all tests and doesn't have any traits of downs , and has great muscle tone despite being slightly premie. The doctors are thrilled with how well she is doing. Please don't stress this. I know it's hard not to but while doing my own research and speaking to people I keep hearing horror stories about SO MANY false positives with this test. Sending prayers.
