My blood work came in fast and just got off the phone with the doctor
Well, he wants me to see an endocronologists b/c my T 3 and 4 are elevated BUT my TSH is normal!!!! this is exactly what happened 2 yrs ago, and I went to the endo and he said he cant do anything for me, so now my doctor wants me to go again and find out if this will affect my chances of getting PG or losing weight! so now Im off to look at providers on DH's plan. thank goodness everything else was ok- my cholesterol is 216-

Ugh I'm sorry it wasnt better results.
What kind of dr are you seeing now? Regular MD or regular OBGYN?
I'm not pushing the issue at all but stay open minded about seeing a Reproductive Endochronologist (RE), they are soooo good at all of this stuff and you dont have to run from doctor to doctor trying to get answers.
They got us PG after 3 short months. I was nervous about going to one at first but I'm so glad I did - and I wish I went earlier!

When dealing with your thyroid levels, you need, to see a regular endocrinologist, in addition to a Reproductive Endo....and sometimes a Reproductive Immunologist.
A regular endo will be more familiar with thyroid protocols.
(T3) 1.4-4.4 Sometimes the diseased thyroid gland will start producing very high levels of T3 but still produce normal levels of T4. Therefore measurement of both hormones provides an even more accurate evaluation of thyroid function.
Free Thyroxine (T4) .8-2 ng/dl A low level may indicate a diseased thyroid gland or may indicate a non- functioning pituitary gland which is not stimulating the thyroid to produce T4. If the T4 is low and the TSH is normal, that is more likely to indicate a problem with the pituitary.
Out of curiousity, Janice ....have you had your prolactin levels checked ? I would also get your progesterone checked.
I just thought I would add, for anyone who has an issue with their pituitary gland, injectibles bypass that gland, where ovulation inducing meds (clomid/femara) don't.

Hi!! oh thats what RE stands for?? who did you use? I need names the guy I saw Aloia in mineola was really mean to me 2 yrs ago, my regular MD doctor is who I went too. ugh, I hope this isnt a bad thing! Im glad I went NOW and found out.

I went to RSofNY in Mineola and I liked them a lot! I started out by seeing Dr Bray but eventually I pretty much saw most of the doctors there. When I called I just asked for the next available appt and it happened to be with Dr Bray. They will send you for countless amounts of blood work.

Rsofny, will want the thyroid to be treated before....having you ttc. In fact, I also had to have a letter of permission from my endo, saying that I am able ttc. Having a thyroid issue that isn't controlled during pg, is very dangerous.

I will see if they are on my plan, i think it only goes by doctors name I will look for Bray.

You should make an appointment with an endocrinologist. Where do you live ? I have one in Long Beach that I use.
An endocrinologist can check your prolactin level, and progesterone level as well.

OMG, its a good thing I went for my check up and said something to my dr about TTC!!!!- he purposely sent 1 vile just for the thyroid.

Long beach is fine- I dont mind traveling if they are good. someone rec D. Klass in RVC but I had to leave a VM!

with a high t3 and t4 but a normal tsh does that mean the pituitary gland is messed up?

RSofNY did allllll of this one me. They do a slew of blood tests - seriously - you will feel like a human pin cushion.

But if and when you decide you are having not much luck TTC, see a RE...thats just my advice. They will do all this blood work on yu anyway. I literally had 15 pages of results from my blood work.

Prolactin: A hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. Prolactin stimulates lactation (milk production). It also plays a major role in the immune system.
Abnormally high prolactin can interfere with ovulation in women and decrease fertility.
Elevated prolactin may be due to a disfunctional pituitary gland.
Low prolactin can cause menstrual disorders and lead to inadequate lactation. Low prolactin is due to impaired production by the cells in the anterior pituitary gland that secrete prolactin.

I was looking at some old blood work form a few years ago (pre-thyroidectomy) and my prolactin levels were low. Not sure what they are now.

My dr ref me to dr. klass in RVC so the next avail appt is NOV 21!!!!!!!!! r they kidding me!!!! I told her I am TTC I dont want to wait that long!!!! she said ok tell your dr to call dr klass to get you in sooner- so my dr is allready gone for the day so tomorrow I will have him call! nov 21- OMG
edited to ask- I guess this means I have to hold off on TTC right?

Hopefully your doctor can get you in earlier...if not, maybe call the doctor and let them know to call you if someone cancels their appt.
