No good deed goes unpunished
So a "friend" of the family- who is related by blood to an in-law of ours (hope that makes sense) asked me to do her a favor. Fine- no questions asked- she needed something that I sell and I told her I would get it for her and just charge her what I pay, in other words make no profit.
So she orders- then sends the original item back because she decides she wants an exchange. Again, fine. I'm not worried about payment this whole time because I know she's good for it.
Apparently she sends me a bunch of face book messages asking if I got her check over the past few days. I have two babies and a business and am hardly on FB. Plus I changed my settings on FB so I wouldn't get all of Facebooks ridiculous updates flooding my email. I get a message from her this morning to tear up her check because she never heard from me and she no longer wants the item (even though I already sent the second item for exchange out). She's ****** I never responded to her stupid FB messages. She has my phone number and my regular email address- no messages there! I laid out money for HER to have her item special ordered now she doesn't want it and is ****** even though I did her a favor! She knows I sent it- I let her know right away. She knows it was a special order, and I laid out the money. It wasn't cheap.
She's just angry because I didn't let her know if I had gotten the check- she sent it to my MIL's house 45 minutes away and I haven't had a chance to drop everything and check the mail there LOL! I should have gone in the snow storm on Monday I guess. What would you say to her? I know this is long winded and complicated, I'm just PIZZED and want to know what you all think is a good way to deal with her.

I say tell her exactly how you feel. Honesty is the best policy in my opinion. Tell her she should've called you if it was that important.

I agree. Tell her what you just wrote(well not everything LOL!!).
I think she should still pay for it OR is she really doesn't want it, should pay the costs you are reliable for.
