Our current mortgage is through Greenpoint.. no issues so far
Previously we had HSBC and HATED them.

I used a broker(LSB Capital). I financed through them for 1st mortgage, refinanced a year later, and now we are looking for a new home, and will use them again. They make the process really easy, and always came out with best interest rate, when I shopped around. I deal with the same person each time, so I feel super comfortable with him.
However, it is not as easy for me to do a straightforward loan, so you may be better off with a bank, I don;t have experience with a bank.
